Love this stained glass above the entrance to Waterstones on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow. This building started its life as a warehouse before being converted into the La Scala cinema in 1912 by Duff and McKissack. As far as I can work out, the stained glass dates from this original conversion.
I made excellent progress on the large Victorian #stainedglass panel today. It feels good to get to the leading stage after cutting and shaping glass for 2 weeks. The dark border is cobalt blue and purple.
I had to build an oversized 65" x 81" building board to accommodate this monster. The finish size will be 58.5" by 79.75" and will eventually put in a 2" mahogany frame. I hope to have it finished and installed by September 1st. Whew! Wish me luck.
My wife had a 4X6 pride flag on her bulletin board at a bio testing lab. She's a director there, and it's important to her that the gay people who work under her know they are welcome.
Someone from her team, who is very nice to their gay co-worker's face, filed a very general complaint about it.
Naturally, I assumed the person was upset the pride flag was too small. So I made my wife a 12X8 stained glass flag to put in its place.
I love stained glass windows, although I have no interest in the religious iconography so often portrayed in them. I stand at stare at them until my eyes slip out of focus and the light plays with the textures and colours, creating brilliant pieces of magical anstract art. Stained glass should really be used in more buildings.
I'm not one for "New Year's resolutions", but I am one for overly ambitious projects.
For 2023, Project365 is "One New Game Per Day".
Given that I have 634 unplayed games in my Steam account and {mumble} unredeemed bundle Steam keys, there's a reason my unplayed collection is tagged "Pile of Shame".
I'll pin this to my profile, and give a brief summary here each day (or x, if I miss x days due to work or stuff).
I'll play 15-30 minutes of (at least) one new game I've never played before (or played less than 15 minutes of). I'll give every game at least 15 minutes, even if I hate every minute of it.
I'm also open to suggestions; if you reply to this thread with a game, I'll schedule it, or tell you what I thought of it.
One of the things that's come up is that I have a bunch of games that I've played once, and not touched again.

Given today's exhaustion levels, I wanted something simple to play, and it just so happened that I got an email that Glass Masquerade was on special, as it's been on my wishlist for some time.
Glass Masquerade is a gorgeous stained-glass puzzle game, in which you're presented with a shape that you need to fill in with a series of random pieces arrayed around the outside of the play area, on two concentric "trays", with very much of a jigsaw puzzle vibe (without being a jigsaw).
The only downside is that it can be frustratingly fiddly to rotate the trays to find the piece you want.
It's beautiful, with a chilled soundtrack, and a great way to just kick back and relax when that's what I need.
