Israel is keeping land crossings - "the only effective way of getting large-scale aid to starving Palestinians" - closed.
Egypt's el-Sisi has agreed to allow UN aid through the Karem Abu Salem border crossing into Gaza.
The agreement took place during a phone conversation with Biden.
Israel seized the Palestinian side of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt on May 6. The closure created a backlog of aid in Egypt, where some of the food aid has begun to rot.
The US pier is a “fig leaf to cover US complicity in genocide & in the destruction of UNRWA” & has "failed to have any meaningful impact."

"On Friday, the UN said it had received the equivalent of 97 trucks of humanitarian supplies through the floating dock since it came into operation on May 17."
This is a speck in the ocean of aid required to meet Gaza's needs, & only land routes can supply that.
"Israel has a history of blocking UN investigators from entering Palestinian territory".
The ICJ "ruled that Israel must allow the UN & other relevant bodies unimpeded access to the Gaza Strip to investigate allegations of genocide.
"Israel has denied access to similar inquiries in the past. ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan visited Israel & the occupied West Bank in December last year but did not visit the Gaza Strip."

The ICJ rulings last week as to Israel also included rulings as to Hamas; including a cease fire order and an order that Hamas release all Israeli hostages. The US through Anthony #Blinken said that Israel can ignore the ICJ rulings directed to it. I assume Blinken is also directing Hamas to ignore the rulings against it, to keep fighting, and to continue holding the Israeli hostages.
