To be clear, I don't blame the nurses & doctors in A&E who are encountering budget & capacity pressures that would make it difficult for anyone to do a good job.

As length of waiting times in A&E grow, so do deaths while waiting to be seen; but this is part of the crisis engineered by the Tories, not a managerial or staff training issue (which is not to say these have no impact).

Noem is a perfect Rep politician with all these scandals. The more compromised a person is, the more useful and pliant they are to the big money behind the .

The RW media machine will overwhelm any scandal, so they win. The real blackmail power is that the machine will turn on them. Hasn't Trump taught us that?

As for VP pick, no. Noem would take too much attention away from Trump. Look for another boring nobody, like Pence.

Yes, Noem's "I shot my dog" story was obviously intended to project a violence-based strongman persona.

Not reason, training, patience, just strict "my way/highway" violence.

Fortunately, the story was about a pet - and so all people could see how abhorrent the approach is. But if the story involved, migrants or liberals or LGBT, then she be the toast of the right.

There’s a lot of analysis out there that I believe is driven by a fundamental misunderstanding of the way fights wars.

Bottom line up front: Russia’s current goals in Ukraine aren’t necessarily victory, at least not in the traditional military sense.

We’ve seen evidence of this since even before Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014. More on that later.

Great thread about the real conflict between and . I agree fully

But if the real object is , IMO, it's time for NATO to get in the fight. I think NATO should directly guarantee the security of air and sea in non-conflict zones. Further, NATO technical teams should be in harms way at power, water and other key infrastructure sites to deter attacks. Lastly, Ukraine can join NATO in a protectorate status vs full membership.

Decades of propaganda have taught people to expect an all-powerful dictatorial POTUS. In fact, the system is meant to funnel grievances up through Congress and the POTUS just balances/administers.
