Please tell me that when artists talk about «quick doodle» they're referring to 6 hours of hard work because I refuse to believe such beautiful stuff can come out from an actually quick doodle.

So I knew that cars make you lose your perception of the humanity of others, but I guess I was a little surprised at just how many people were fully ready to ram their car directly into my body as I was walking a picket line. "I will do a vehicular assault to avoid having to walk 10 extra minutes" is peak LA culture.

"These have counting skills previously only seen in people

"The are the first animals other than humans known to produce a deliberate number of calls on command....

"...The researchers also... could` predict the upcoming number of crow calls based on the sound of the first call, suggesting that the birds planned the number of calls in advance..."

"I think banning surveillance advertising would be a very good first step. We would be really cutting at the root of the pathologies that we are dealing with from the tech industry, which is this mass surveillance in the name of influence, influence to sell something, influence to convince someone to vote for something, influence to misinform someone. Ultimately, that’s the game."

"Why don't "tough" and "dough" rhyme?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFhY4Vy3IHc "Spelling reformers have been advocating for changes to make English spelling more intuitive and less irregular. One example of its messiness: take the “g-h” sound from “enough,” the “o” sound from “women” and the “t-i” sound from “action,” and you could argue that “g-h-o-t-i” spells “fish.” So, how did English get like this? Arika Okrent explores the complexity of English spelling conventions."

Week one in the new administration in , things are getting a bit concerning. We have on one side opposition parties tried to expand the legislative power

China propaganda machine also putting pressure on Taiwanese entertainers working in China to conform

It's incredibly distracting and overwhelming situation...Taiwan gov should keep their vigilant eyes on all fronts

Periodic reminder that the Fediverse currently only has one algorithm: FIFO + boosts.

So boost liberally, and boost often.

Don't be afraid to make things viral and annoying.

Most of us aren't looking at our feeds that often, so we need those boosts to know what's happening.

IF this is true (and I would say it is a sizeable “if”), then two things would have to be true:

-Putin is actively supporting Trump (which everyone knows)

-There are ongoing back channel communications between Putin and Trump and Trump is acting as an officer of the government in international affairs, which is against the law.

This would be very very bad.
