Okay, picking up from my video game post yesterday, I'm curious:

When you play video games, rpgs, ect, where you get to choose your character, do you tend to choose a character of the same sex, the opposite sex, non-binary, anthropomorphic, or a mysterious 4th option?

If you want to share screenshots of character builds I would enjoy that!

paulthenerd,
@paulthenerd@cupoftea.social avatar

@RickiTarr I always pick the female option because I'm male in real life so why would I be male in video game life

What are your thoughts on DNF (Did Not Finish)-ing books? Do you feel guilty about it? Do you worry you missed out on something? Or are you confident in dropping a book and reaching for the next one?

At what point are you most likely to DNF, if ever? What sorts of things cause you to DNF?

My friend, book blogger Kriti, was musing on these questions a while back, and it sparked this new post: https://armedwithabook.com/dealing-with-dnf-the-practice-of-did-not-finish/

@skaeth @bookstodon absolutely no shame in DNFing a book if you’re not enjoying it. It could be simply that I’m not in the mood for it at that moment but would enjoy it later or it could just be that the book isn’t for me whatever the reason

Something needs to change because this is not good for the future of music no matter what techbro apologist journalists will have you believe

I've said it before about the slew of powerful and expensive handheld gaming devices that have come on the market since the , but I'll say it again....people who buy handheld devices don't really want an expensive and powerful device that compromises portability. They want a light, ergonomic, affordable device that gives satisfactory performance for the games they play. have known this for decades which is why they've had the market cornered. Other companies don't seem to get it

Lots of scaremongering about missed vitamins and nutrients in a diet. Truth is if you’re planning your meals (which you should be doing anyway even on an omnivore diet) and using whole food ingredients (which again you should be doing anyway), then you will be fine.
