Photographer Francesco Dall’Olmo: ‘This was the first photo I took in Patagonia. Contrary to expectations of cold, rain, and wind, our initial encounter with these landscapes was unusual: nearly three days of clear skies. This clear welcome gifted me with a rare photo of Mount Fitz Roy framed by the Milky Way arch’
Ferdinand Magellan encountered what he claimed was a race of giants during his voyage around South America. Legends of these "Patagonian Giants" made their way back to Europe and were even referenced on early maps of the New World, such as this one from 1562. #MythologyMonday
"Since then, it has made gifts to organizations supporting local politicians campaigning on environmental issues.
“We would be really interested in supporting any climate leader — Republican, Democrat or independent,” Mr. Curtis said. “It just so happens that a lot of those folks are Democrats.”" #climate#environment#patagonia
Stumbled across a sunrise sequence of Monte Fitz Roy (Cerro Chaltén) from my trip to Patagonia in January 2020.
It's hard to believe that this was nearly 4 years ago now, but what an incredible and unforgettable moment. A sharp contrast with the year that followed.
One of the scenes that remains very close to my heart. The road leading to town of El Chalten and the Fitzroy (Chalten) and Cerro Torre mountain chain, Patagonia. I have had some wonderful times here over the years.
