If you’ve been following us, you’ll know that we’re big on the Fediverse.

It was incredibly important for us to create an instance and provide everyone with a social network free of ads and algorithms.

Join us live this Saturday as we talk about why it was important for us to do more than just be around here.

We’ll be joined by @beardedtechguy and @cliffwade from @AllThingsTech, who will also talk about the Fediverse and why it matters to them.

🎧 Join the audio event here: https://audon.space/u/@Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net

If you've been thinking of switching browsers or contemplating whether you should set the Vivaldi browser as default, find out what @xdadevelopers has to say about what makes our browser stand out in the crowd. 👇🏻

@Vivaldi @xdadevelopers I still need to try out Arc, but it seems big on sidebars. And I do not like sidebars.
Except for Opera, the others are still installed on my old laptop.
I like trying out different browsers, and currently I'm using Floorp :)

@Vivaldi @xdadevelopers I've tried to go to XDA, but I'm annoyed by their "Please disable ad blocking" full web page notice.

I'm surprised that a browser like yours would recommend a place that requires intrusive advertisements to work, knowing how much you guys hate intrusive adverts.

We are working on our own VPN, Wireguard with Mesh technology will be open and open source, we will have multiple servers around the globe, a rich API available for users and developers and many more options.

Very soon Midori Browser will have its own VPN available, privacy and security options all integrated to be lightweight, fast and secure.

I just can't seem to settle on a . I've tried Firefox, Chromium, Vivaldi, Floorp, and even Edge. There's always something

ta1da,
@ta1da@mastodon.social avatar

I know there are people who swear by and others who have abandoned it for greener pastures, but I actually kinda like it. I just hate that it doesn't make it easy for me to have multiple profile the way, for example, Chromium does. I really can't get past that

cassidy,
@cassidy@blaede.family avatar

@ta1da it's not the exact same thing, but have you tried container tabs in Firefox?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-use-firefox-containers

I find it really useful for keeping multiple accounts/profiles separate.

Privacy matters! But what if the tools meant to protect us are being misused? Our latest study (to appear ARES '24) reveals surprising facts about HTTP Client Hints (HTTP CHs) on the Web. [THREAD]

@swiefling I believe this has been a criticism of Client Hints from the get go and one of the reasons why it’s not implemented in all browser engines.

swiefling,
@swiefling@hci.social avatar

@freddy At least @mozilla and seem to have a clear stance on HTTP client hints.

Ungoogled-Chromium it is?

The search for a slim, fast and modern browser might have come to an end. Ungoogled-chromium feels just like what I want. Even better than Vivaldi. But the setup process is a bit more nerdy.
