#Fediverse#writingcommunity,#writers, #editor, Literary Agents, Publishing houses, magazines, poetry anthologies, Editors ... Are you on Mastodon? If so, please comment and boost.
What hash tags do you use? How can we best find all of you? How do you hook up with writers? Are you using Mastodon to find writers?
We are looking to make a collection of agents, publishers, editors for use by writers on Mastodon. Can you help? Leave a response below. THANKS.
I've tried. I sat down with Mastodon this weekend and tried all my usual networking tricks (following who other people follow, searching my interests, following hashtags) and the #fediverse is discovery-adverse. It's a system designed to keep you with small groups. I don't love it.
My situation might be a little unique.
I'm an #author and #editor who speaks English primarily, comes from the #USA, and lives in #Korea. I'm published worldwide, but have a bigger following outside the states than in the states.
Here's my comparison of Calibri, Aptos and all contenders for Microsoft's default typeface crown :D ... now that friendly folk elsewhere have stopped requesting additions and amendments :)
Well, it's official: I'm open to editing books! Please spread the word!
I have worked as an editor for 2+ years at a small publisher, and I have 3+ years of editorial experience with literary journals. Feel free to DM me, and I'm also really flexible with pricing!
Does anyone know a good FOSS text editor running on Android, preferably with code highlighting?
I don't need a full fledged IDE on my phone, but I am tired of trying to open a text file (any PL or really just plain text) and then no app is able to open it.
I've built a PoC #mp4 meta tag editor for the #browser in vanilla #javascript that pretends to run in a #crt#terminal. Pretty stupid combo, I know :-) But I had a lot of fun building it!
(It's meant to be used with #m4a#audio files but seems to work with video too and it requires a browser with the File System Access API enabled.)
@RedPenRabbit@edibuddies Yes! It’s hard to get people to appreciate this fact — and especially frustrating when it’s an individual or company looking for an #editor, whether for a permanent hire or a one-off gig. We are professionals who take pride in our work, but we are still human! This is why I give any job description that has a variation of “edits to perfection, without any errors” a hard pass. #editing#amediting
I haven’t been able to find all the right groups of people on the fediverse. And this makes me sad. I follow a group of people in my field of work and a large # of people in the Apple development ecosystem.
It’s a really helpful way for teams to define basic style settings for the project, which ensures consistent files and reduces unnecessary merge conflicts.
Learn about the whys and hows of inclusive language...on your own time, with loads of information and ideas to explore! I've made parts of the first two weeks available as samples at the course site, if you'd like to find out more :)
I'm Badri, a #writer and #nonfiction#editor at Snipette looking to explore and highlight the interesting aspects of our world 🔦
I also #read a lot, and am always on the lookout for interesting bits of #science, #culture, #history, or #philosophy which come out at some point or other in my articles 👀
I'm also @badrihippo, but this instance, Snipetteville, is a place for all Snipette editors to hang out. We may be talking in private, but if you see a public conversation you're most welcome to join. Feel free to tag me in deep and/or lighthearted #philosophical conversations about aspects of the world 💭
Avoyd logo modelled and rendered in #Avoyd#Voxel#Editor using a minimum number of 'morphing voxels'.
The isometric image is taken at a 45deg angle from the voxel grid, & the 'cube' is made up of four 5x5x5 voxel wedge shapes.
I designed the morphing voxel approach for the first iteration of Avoyd back in 1999 when marching cubes was still patented. Each voxel has a material amount & is rendered as a distorted hexahedron with volume a function of amount except when constrained by neighbours.
Would you like to take a little time each week to learn more about inclusive language in lots of different areas? Check out my new course! (And please do boost or otherwise share with folks who might be interested.)
