Just installed #xwayland 24.1! Now to wait for the new version of the #Nvidia drivers. This is part of why I installed an Arch-based distro, I don't want to wait six months to two years between significant updates, I don't have that much extra time to spare in my life for reasons outside me and my body that shouldn't exist but do exist in this world and I don't want to waste it waiting around for new versions of stuff.
I'm actually really enjoying #KDE after using if on #EndeavourOS for a few weeks now. There are some hidden power user things that help, that you don't notice until you start using it more.
The #ArchLinux environment isn't so bad either.. but then again, I haven't had to fix it yet.
It helps the Arch maintainers get a better view of the install base which in turn helps them know where to spend their time and effort. Get your votes in!
If nothing else, you get a really cool look at what other Arch users are using most.
I somtimes have small, but annoying issues on my machine,
running EndeavourOS. Now, I don't use my PC often, only on the weekends.
And I'm thinking if I should just switch for another distro,
Or really take some time to look in the logs and try to google and fix this issue.
I alreayd tried once but it didn't hold for long.
It's a DNS issue.
What do you think? #EndeavourOS#Linux#Arch
While it's nothing special to run it on TUXEDO hardware, this is particularly exciting as it is an early version coming out of our fully automated installation service. Things look promising to have it available for all customers pretty soon! 🤗
Hi all, I've just migrated from @irfan to this account on sakurajima.social. I'll also be attempting to migrate my main account @irfan to this one in the coming days, but I'm expecting nothing on that front since it's failed so far.
I've moved to multiple servers throughout my time on the #Fediverse in pursuit for a "permanent" instance to be on, and I've never had the chance to write an #intro post lol so this will be my first.
I'm a 26 year old (in Nov 2024) (gfdi) programmer obsessed with languages such as #Python and #Shell, frameworks like #Django, and #CloudNative shenanigans like #Docker, #Kubernetes, and #Helm. I'm also obsessed with #FOSS and #Linux, and promoting them to be more viable each day for the masses so everyone could have not just free but secure access to daily computing.
I'll be using this account to mostly document my passions through mini reviews or rants. I have another picture-based account over on #Pixelfed, @irfan. All images I have posted and will be posting will include descriptive/alt text, including my pfp and banner. I also have some bots for posting local (to me, #Malaysia) #news and other relevant data cos the #Mastodon API is just so fun to play with.
I'm surprised the #SteamDeck does not support .heic images by default. Not sure if that was also the case on #EndeavourOS and I installed something to have it compatible, or it was compatible from the get go.
Had to chroot into my vanilla #archlinux install today to reinstall the kernel. Not sure what went wrong, but something broke during the update. Was back up and running in a few minutes.
That install is a daily driver that's well over two years old at this point, first time I've ever had to chroot in to fix something on any of my #arch / #endeavouros machines. Who's unstable?
Gibt es hier Leute, die #EndeavourOS und #Manjaro verwendet haben? Kann mir jemand über die Vor- bzw. Nachteile der jeweiligen Distribution berichten? #Linux
It has taken a while to develop this release but we are still here and despite life throwing in extra challenges for each of our team members the past months, we are proud to present you our Galileo ISO with significant changes...
Would you look at that? PopOS is giving me tons of artifacts, locking up and is now completely unusable for no reason at all. Let's give #manjaro or #endeavouros another try.....
It's still really weird that my #DualShock/#DualSense controllers still don't work with #Bazzite (#Ublue/#Fedora) on #bluetooth. They work fine wired. My bluetooth mouse works fine with it too. Definitely isn't an issue on the controllers' side since they work fine on bluetooth on my #ArchLinux PC out of the box, and also my #SteamDeck. They even work on said PC when it was on #EndeavourOS before I switched to Bazzite. It's the only thing holding me back from recommending or installing Bazzite on more systems.
Y'know, I started my Linux journey using Cinnamon; arguably the most "Windows-like" DE that there is. But the further away, time-wise, that I go from Windows, the more that GNOME just feels right. I really love the way it works, looks, and feels. I often wish that my Windows work computer functioned more like Gnome in it's workflow.
I have done next to nothing all weekend, and whilst part of me is loving it, the other part of me is screaming at me to do something more productive.
So I'm going to backup my home folder in readiness for a nuke & pave of my laptop to go from #KDE to #Sway, still on #endeavouros (or should I try a new Distro? 🤔) ah, somebody stop me!!!
EndeavourOS update: Slimmer options but lean and in a new live environment, Galileo has arrived (endeavouros.com)
