8 #Republican senators announced Fri they would boycott #Democratic#legislative priorities & nominations as payback for #Trump’s #guilty#verdict.
In a joint statement, the senators said they would not “allow any increase to non-security related funding for this administration, or any appropriations bill which funds partisan lawfare.”
"The case started with 5 women the state’s #abortion ban stopped from getting medical care for their complicated pregnancies. The case has since grown to include 20 women and two doctors.
In August, a judge issued an injunction allowing Texans with complicated pregnancies to get an abortion if their doctor made a 'good faith judgment' that it was necessary.
The #Texas Supreme Court overturned that ruling today." #legal
@GottaLaff
What's ironic was that the #GOP killed #MedicareForAll in the 1990s arguing that they didn't want to let the government getting between a patient and their doctor.
I mean, it was a lie back then, but the irony is still there.
But a few are suggesting abandoning Trump as the #GOP nom.
Surprisingly, fmr congressman #MoBrooks (R-AL), a once loyal Trump ally, posted after the #verdict Thurs that the GOP “faces [a] choice.”
“Keep Trump as nominee & gamble USA’s future,” Brooks said, or “replace Trump with a good character nominee & BEAT THE STEW OUT OF BIDEN!”
The Federalist’s Sean Davis has some thoughts on how Trump might respond to his conviction: “In 2016, the presidential race was decided based on candidates releasing lists of potential Supreme Court nominees,” he tweeted. “In 2024, I want to see lists of which Democrat officials are going to be put in prison. This is what happens when you cross the Rubicon.”
Davis went on: “Biden and Garland should be indicted in Texas tomorrow for their ongoing criminal human trafficking conspiracy across the border and into the state of Texas, in direct contravention of state law.”
The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh was thinking on a similar track: “Donald Trump should make and publish a list of ten high ranking Democrat criminals who he will have arrested when he takes office. First on the list should be Joe Biden. Second should be Joe’s crackhead son.”
Or here was lawyer Mike Davis, a pro-Trump attack dog whom Donald Trump Jr. has floated as a possible pick for attorney general in a second Trump term: “Dear Republicans: If your response to Biden’s Republic-ending lawfare against Trump is:
We must respect the process and/or 2. We are too principled to retaliate, please do two things: 1. Fuck off 2. Leave the party. You are too weak, stupid, and dangerous to keep around.”
“Import the Third World, become the Third World,” tweeted Tucker Carlson. “That’s what we just saw. This won’t stop Trump. He’ll win the election if he’s not killed first. But it does mark the end of the fairest justice system in the world. Anyone who defends this verdict is a danger to you and your family.”

"This is an absolutely disgrace" -- GOP Rep. Cory Mills attacks the jury of Trump's peers for convicting him and vows that House Republicans are going to go after Judge Merchan's family
@aaron.rupar believe #republicans when they tell you who they are. They believe the rich shouldn’t held accountable for anything and they’ll use poor people to fight for their right to do what they want #gop
"SBU Drones Destroyed $100 Million Russian Radar System in Crimea
Sources from Ukraine’s special services told Kyiv Post about the latest successful SBU operation, which has rendered Russian air defenses in Crimea “blind.”"
"The conviction comes at a critical moment in the campaign...
Trump’s entire persona is built around the facade that he is a powerful strongman, impervious to attacks and solely capable of defending his followers. Now he stands for election as a convict, a weak man too cowardly to take the stand who was bested by a local district attorney." https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/05/30/trump-trial-convicted-impact/
Trump’s campaign donation page tonight after Donald J. Trump was found guilty of 34 felonies by a jury of random citizens chosen by both Trump and prosecution lawyers.
MAGA people: You just opened Pandora's Box. This means all presidents can be convicted of crimes. Republicans or Democrats. Bet you didn't consider that, did you?
Reasonable people: Yes idiots, that's the fucking point.
@lowqualityfacts the only reason Warrren G Harding wasn’t prosecuted is because he died first. #republicans don’t know American history but they need their people to be poorly educated so the #gop can manipulate them
