Stoskopff was German, an Alsatian, who was quite forgotten until the 30s when his work won new respect. He loved still lifes of glassware, of which this is one of the shining examples. His handling of transparency and reflection is remarkable! Note the pieces of a broken glass....an indicator of mortality?

Well my glasses came in. I really like my aviator sunglasses but I'm not sold on the Oakleys. My wife said that's what's in style but I've never been an "in style" guy. That being said they are really nice so I'll adjust and I'll admit they're way more comfortable than the wire frames I normally wear. 😎🤓

You get more blue light in five minutes outdoors than you do in an entire day looking at a computer screen (and most of us could probably benefit from at least five more minutes outdoors, for that matter). If you feel better wearing blue blockers, then keep it up. I’m not sweating it.
So....top of the line Varilux progressives for about $478 (w/ insurance, lenses only) or good ol' Costco frames and prog. lenses (proprietary?) for less than 300.?
That's my current dilemma.
my CJ69 unit was in the basement spewing out vocalized garbage, including something about a forced update, while plugged into its phone searching for signal. when I asked what was wrong, it just made modem noises and returned to this pose. the phone says "20% updated" but it hasn't moved in an hour. should I power it off, or will that fck up its systems more?
Okay. I was right to be skeptical about Apple’s VR glasses, but I've been pleasantly surprised.
I think that they will change the entire industry. With that high price tag, it will take a while. I expect it to come down significantly every few years, but I think it's going to happen.
I can't wait to start using #Emacs on my screen in front of me in a virtual environment direct from my laptop. 🙃
