About the fact that there's no auto dark mode on KDE, I just found this program that does the job perfectly https://github.com/baduhai/Koi
It does basically the same thing as Yin-Yang but you can set schedule (time-based or location-based) and can be autostarted silently.
Problem solved :blob_cat_mlem:
Here’s my next #linocut for the #PrinterSolstice prompt complementary! Orange and blue. An ornamental white and orange carp or koi fish. The edition of prints are made on Japanese kozo (or mulberry) paper, 8” by 10” (20.3 cm by 25.4 cm).
They are supposed to be lucky. First print of 2024!
Anyone know of a good way to rehome #koi#carp ? Dad has 30-50 in his pond and all the cleaning of filters etc is getting too much for him. Boosts welcome.
For #ArtAdventCalendar Day 8, one of a series, each unique, of my hand made cyanotypes on watercolour paper (14” x 11”) with an image of a cloud-filled sky overprinted with my linocut print of several kites, and wind-socks each collaged with beautiful Japanese washi papers.
The carp-shaped Koinobori wind socks (also known as satsuki-nobori) are flown in Japan to celebrate Tango no sekku, or Children’s Day each May 5.

What’s #koi got to do with it? Souring relations between #Asian#rivals#Japan and #China now seem to be snagged on calm-inducing beauty in spas, museums and gardens. The slippery dispute between Asia’s two biggest #economies adds to their spat over Japan's release into the sea of treated but #radioactive water from the tsunami-hit #Fukushima#nuclear power plant. And it has prompted more questions than answers.
A fish-eye shot of the Kibble Palace Koi Pond in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens. Just me messing around a few days ago when it was too wet to be taking photos outside.
What If:
Originally, Phrono was born into a Glace-Merfolk family but was unable to regulate his frost magic as a newborn and needed a spell to turn his ice magic into fire magic in order to live. THIS is a version where he was born as a Glaceman without those difficulties. He became more prideful of his Glacefolk-heritage and often looked down on those without natural ice powers. Because of this, he never really rose high in the ranks but he did not care what rank he was. He could easily wipe the floor with any low life no matter if they out ranked him or not.
This was an idea brewing for a long while. I wanted to work on it but never knew how to go about it. I did add it to the string of ideas but the "What If" last year really pushed me to do this. Coming up with an attire for him was hard but ended up landing on something that feels similar but much different. That's what I really take away from this the most in a very positive way: It feels like Phrono but you can recognize the differences! Hopefully I can keep this as an annual theme.
Just finished this original digital art creation showing a red and black pair of koi fish and an orange-red setting sun behind bamboo stalks and leaves. Perfect for any space with an oriental theme. Art from the heart.
Pucker up, buttercup. Ever been kissed by a carp? This colorful koi was actually looking to see if we had some Koi treats. Taken at a local botanical and garden park and always fun to photograph.
I made a second cyanotype of a cloudy sky printed with my Lino block with several different kites and wind socks. Then I printed my block on various beautiful patterned and coloured Japanese washi papers, and collaged them on my image. I did a little embellishment with Posca pen.
The koï-shaped wind socks are traditionally flown in Japan on Children’s Day, May 5.
I felt my cyanotype of a cloudy sky needed more, so I carved a Lino block with several different kites and wind socks and printed it in hill ink over the cyanotype. Then I printed my block on various beautiful patterned and coloured Japanese washi papers, and collaged them on my image. I did a little embellishment with Posca pen. I’m planning a series of these prints.
