[Home automation] Is there a way to stream #audio across my home in sync with easy integration with #archlinux, #android, #upnp and optionally #spotify.
I want to be able to play anything at home, and be able to select play it in kitchen and living room.
And integration with #HomeAssistant and ideally #Ampache because my main audio library is in Ampache for now.
Hey #audio people. The #KiCad library is currently discussing how audio connectors footprints (3.5mm and similar) should be designed. We are pretty sure what naming scheme for pins we want to use, but are struggling with the silkscreen markings.
Is there any value in putting a polarity marker on such a footprint? If yes, on which pin?
We are thinking of not requiring any Polarity/Pin1 marker at all. And leave it to the board designer to add more marking if required.
Getting ready to ship this bad boy to Wim Taymans so hopefully he can use it to fix the FireWire issues discovered by

Hi! It's your daily reminder that this talented audio engineer (me) can help you with your audio. I can provide mastering services for your music, podcast editing and consulting, and sweetening the audio tracks in your video projects.
I see lots of people releasing videos with audio that doesn't play loudly, and consistently, and needs help in general. I can fix that.
Hey! Do you need any #audio work for your #music or #podcast ? Did you know that I am an accomplished audio engineer, and I'm more than happy to mix or master your project? I'd also love to record/produce your work if you're local!
Available for audio work, guitar overdubs, or songwriting.
Hi. I 'm new here. My sister and I are the co-authors of many mystery novels and are currently working on the next book in our High Country Mystery Series set in Wyoming.
Visit our #blog for a list of the High Country Mystery Series in order of publication! Now available in #kindle#paperback#audio https://mcquede.blogspot.com/
I don’t know how many times this needs to be said, but if it can’t be read with a standard, vanilla #RSS reader, it isn't a #Podcast. It's just Sparkling #Audio#Enshittification.
If you have some spare time over the next 6 weeks and have #voiceacting, #audio editing, #video editing, video production, #illustration, #3D graphics, writing, or similar skills and would be up for helping us help #trans Americans, please drop us a line at annie@transrescue.org
We're hoping to produce a lot of content over the next few months.

Facing a huge rise of hearing loss in young adults and teens, it's up to us grownups to not only teach kids better listening habits, but also give them better audio tools. https://somegadgetguy.com/2024/02/16/puroquiet-plus-review-anc-headphones-for-kids/
Using something like the PuroQuiet Plus, I don't feel like I'm nagging my daughter to turn the sound down, and I know she's appreciating higher fidelity sound.
I have a #Python question: I want to stream audio through a (USB) microphone and do some FFT magic for beat-detection (I'm aware that Python might be a poor choice here but humour me please). I'm in way over my head so I've been trying to pick-apart whatever's out there, but most of the solutions I've found are deeply entwined with visualisations and whatnot, and I really don't want to have to install Qt or pygame or what have you
So I have a working implementation but it's not very good: I'm using an aubiohttps://aubio.org/onsethttps://github.com/hat-festival/hatlights/blob/main/lib/modes/music_bounce.py#L84 to detect the onset of any kind of sound, which it does, but not very reliably. I'd really like to be able to distinguish between different frequencies, and I think aubio can probably do it but the documentation is verging on non-existent. Anybody got any experience with this at all?
I am head over heels excited about the CLAP plugin format, both as a musician and a developer. It's really incredible what it allows both parties to achieve. This talk by the devs was very nice, I think:
I frequently listen to 4-channel Commodore Amiga music modules from the 1980s and 1990s, with instruments consisting of short 8-bit sound samples.
One of my favorite Amiga composers from that era is Sami Järvinen, better known as Groo. I love his daring experiments, such as this Free Jazz style track called "Banana and Heaven".

See the previous post in this thread for another Groo track.
