Folks interested in buying air filters: stay the hell away from products!

I went to go purchase replacement filters for a RabbitAir 3, and apparently they put a stop on my order because my girlfriend received a RabbitAir MinusA2 filter kit from them (that we can't use and that she didn't order!!!). Apparently they want us to pay shipping to return it, or we can't order new filters!

Fuck this to high hell and back. I have no interest in working with a company that can "send me the wrong item" and then try to hold future maintenance of the product hostage if I don't choose to mail it back to them on my dime.

The client and I both take RATs the morning of the appointment. I wear a mask, I recommend the client does too (although can be tricky with sideshaves et al), and ideally we work in a room where there's windows that open for ventilation.

On nice days I've cut hair on people's decks, wind permitting. 😂

I also have my CO2 monitor, and I am considering saving up for another filter that I can bring +

Today Swedish #masks brand #Airinum is launching #Hale, a portable #airpurifier. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/airinum/hale?ref=discovery. It claims to remove 99% of airbone particles incl. virus. There are no certifications like #K95 or #FFP2 for purifiers, other than #HEPA, which doesn't give the same level of assurance. This piece of research from Aug22 is promising though https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35947419/, but Airinum stopped short of guaranteeing safety from #COVID for @longcovid sufferers. Thoughts? It would be a gamechanger for me

(All self-diagnosed) Is there a gentle, funny way to remind them to wear a mask, and maybe buy a HEPA filter- I mean , the bare minimum!? I don’t want to preach you understand.

I did the riskiest thing I have done in 3 years today especially given where

I let two people in my house to do an assessment for maintenance work that I had been pushing off for quite some time. It was do it now or lose the resource.

I asked them to wear head strap . They did. They both had beards so the fit wasn't great.

I turned up the 5 HEPAs we own to full. Plus kept the furnance circulation (which has a central HEPA) running full.

I opened the windows throughout the house.

We both wore our GVS Elipse in our own house the whole time.

I left the house empty for an hour post-vist: windows open & cranked.

Then checked my CO2 before re-entering to confirm the rate of decrease of CO2 over the hour to make sure I was getting good ACH.

I used nasal spray after returning.

Lotta effort.

Why? This is what looks like.

Because

Americans have contracted over 50 million #COVID infections in the last 3 months- of SUMMER, mind you - according to a seasoned monitor of wastewater data.

That works out to somewhere between 5 million and 20 million people who will be identified as having #ChronicCOVID.

And even more who have unrealized or invisible symptoms that may result in brain damage, heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, etc.

"plan to take multi-layered precautions like using masks, getting boosters, and using remote options through January" "

My advice? Media sources & doctors who spin this as "numbers are going down! yay!" do not have your family's interests at heart & should be cut out of your diet. I can bet they weren't focusing on rising numbers when that was happening.

He estimates 40,000 [#ChronicCOVID cases per day, or 3,600,000 total, which means he's using the lowest rate possible, or 7% of infections]

The Bad News: High valley. Although a decline in transmission is always good, we're headed toward what is likely a very high valley in October at 700,000 infections per day, and then the picture will likely get much worse in November, December and January, unless we see an unanticipated level of vaccinations. Grim Implications. In the "good" times of October, we will still see 1.5% of Americans (1in 69) actively infectious at any given moment. Our low- end estimate suggests 35,000 new Long COVID cases from such infections. That's grim. Media narrative. The psychological dynamics are bleak. Expect the news media to focus on the fact that transmission is going down (the "good" news) instead of the much bigger picture that it's leveling off at very high rates (the very bad news). The over-optimism will likely undermine vaccinations and masking. The narrative should be "plan to take multi- layered precautions like using masks, getting boosters, and using remote options through January," but will more likely be "cases are headed back down." #VaxUp #MaskUp #Ventilate #HEPA #CorsiRosenthalBox #remotework

Is it time to replace that expensive filter, or is it almost as good as new? How much clean air does it provide? Does it match manufacturer's claims? Made your own? Here's how to test the CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) https://itsairborne.com/how-to-measure-hepa-air-cleaner-filter-cadr-a660bfa4479d

Every anti-vaxxer should be a clean air advocate. Saw the argument that "the Black Plague disappeared without a vaccine". This is misleading as it is still in existence, it just doesn't spread like it did because we figured out how it spreads, and then made the proper changes.

We know how spreads, , so if we clean the air via and , and , we stop spreading it –and that means those who don't want to get vaccinated will be more protected.

I need to buy some HEPA filter systems for my house. We've been running a Corsi-Rosenthal box in the area where my elderly relative in hospice lives with us due to healthcare workers coming to the house, and this has been working. But now they need around-the-clock care, and we will have many more people coming here and staying here all the time.

We were thinking if we could find HEPA filters that are relatively quiet, and that we would set up multiple of them around the house. It might not work for us to stay covid-free, but we're trying to do the best we can.

Does anyone have recommendations for these types of filters, that would be good for covid and other viruses, and relatively quiet?

Hey people! I start a new job tomorrow (fully in person) & am a little nervous about keeping myself safe. Here’s what I’ve got in my toolkit:

  1. and
  2. purifier for my desk
  3. monitor
  4. nasal spray
  5. mouthwash

I’ll only eat outdoors, weather permitting; otherwise I’ll find a private room & run the purifier before unmasking. I will use several times per day.

Anything I’m forgetting? 😷

So the government will install air conditioning units but doctors won't install because people will trip over the cords and die.

Also and more importantly, WHERE IS THE RCT THAT AIR CONDITIONERS WORK ON A POPULATION BASIS?

I UNDERSTAND MOST PEOPLE DO NOT OPERATE THEM PROPERLY.

WE CAN'T JUST INSTALL THE AC WITHOUT META-STUDIES SHOWING COST EFFECTIVENESS.
