If I were to do a talk at the information security conference #WICCON this October in NL, what topic would you want to hear more about? Other suggestions welcome in reply.
8 Ways Your Email Account Is Vulnerable to Hackers
"Ever wondered how hackers manage to hack an email account? Simple mistakes, like using a weak password, engaging with a phishing email, or using your account on a public computer, make it possible. We'll explain how you make your email account vulnerable to hackers and cover how to protect it"
"Smart TVs track your viewing habits using content recognition and voice capture for targeted advertising.
Disconnecting smart TVs from the internet can prevent data tracking, but limits functionality and will require you to use a streaming box for many tasks (which may also track you)"
Idk why not at this point. The #BridgyFed critics got like everything they wanted. Everything is pretty much #optin. And because of that it's difficult to follow from here the artists I follow at #Bluesky. :satsuki_sadge:
You could say "just ask each one of them to follow you then", but that's easy for you to say. I don't like looking like an unsolicited jerk asking if they want to hear the words of Jesus Christ or something. Which is how I see some of you here on fedi btw. Damn evangelists. No different from techbros or FOSSbros
Now I do think the early stages should be opt-in like a beta as it is right now to iron out the bugs (and there are plenty) before being available fully to the public. But I have a feeling this is never gonna go #optout as it should've been because of the harshness of those ignorant IANALs who do not really understand the #GDPR and other #privacy laws... :reisensweat:
We are working on the new version of Midori 11.3.3 which brings more speed, more security and much more fluidity at the time of navigation, as well as the correction of better problems. It will be available very soon.
Starting May 1, #iOS developers need to describe their use of APIs that can potentially be used for fingerprinting. This is a new App Store #privacy requirement. Chrome, Instagram, Spotify, and Threads don’t adhere to their declared reasons.
