good morning netizens! The weekend approaches ever more rapidly and still I am #lookingForWork. I'm trying to find work in the IT industry such as #informationTechnology#informationSecurity#cyberSecurty#sysAdmin#netAdmin#NOC#SOC#programming and more. My specialty is, you guessed it, infosec, and with my four certifications with a focus in it, I'm really hoping I can get a role in the sector soon to help me #gtfomystate as a #transgender#woman currently trapped in #Oklahoma where it is unsafe for me and my family to stay for long. I am a #remote worker, but open to alternatives if it means getting us to safety. If you are aware of any connections, roles, or people who may be able to help, I would be forever grateful. Be safe out there, netizens
I've done my #Sunday#server updates. I'm still fiddling around with #DockerSwarm some, but most everything is back to how it was before moving over to that.
I’ve also been working on deploying a #Lemmy instance. Just waiting for my Docker Hub 🐳 pull limit to reset…😒
I have always used systemd processes inside /etc/systemd/system/. But what are /lib/systemd/system/ processes for and should I still have processes under /etc/systemd/system/ for the same things? It seems if I remove mastodon-web etc. under /etc/systemd/system/ everything goes awry. Yes, daemon-reload has been run and processes are in place. Can someone explain this bit to me? #MastoAdmin#SysAdmin#Linux
Is there any tutorial on how to separate Sidekiq and PostgreSQL to another servers?
I have currently them on the same machine but it would give me more peace of mind in the next big event to have them separated for performance. #MastoAdmin#SysAdmin#Servers
It seems there's even some delay on my powerful instance, but only for some minutes or so. I'm deducing this based on the notification flood. Or then the issues are all round, not sure which way. Even #MastodonSocial struggling? #Eurovision causes quite a heavy server load. #MastoAdmin#Servers#Instances#MastodonInstance#SysAdmin

I love the fact that the CEO of #Portainer jumped into my thread on #Slack to give me a hand on getting it up and running properly the other day on #DockerSwarm. 🙌🏼💛
At the end of #office day (we have hybrid work as default) coworker from other department went into our room. They said something about good, positive day and optimism. They looked at people in our room and finally at me.
"It's really good, you are here today and yet we didn't have any #network outage."
This way I learned they think I have some kind of #curse on me, which causes network failures in my presence... :blobcatjoy:
#sysadmin#powershell
I work as #sysadmin in an #K12 education institution. IT students found out I use #Linux for my #workstation and much of the infrastructure runs on Linux.
Kid wants to tell me he uses #arch every time I see him.
Also of note I think I've gotten most of my ~110 #Docker containers back online in Swarm. I think I'll probably need to run some of them outside of Swarm since it doesn't seem to support some things like Devices. Excited though, I learned a bunch!
Has anyone had any experience moving from mastodon/mastodon to glitch-soc/mastodon? I'm looking to do this as they document changes better, and the tweaks they have made allow for me to keep my instance up-to-date with my own tweaks and customization.
It looks straightforward, but since I have modified mastodon/mastodon, I want to be sure I move and make the same changes to my glitch-soc/mastodon fork as well.
I'm a #brooklyn native, who works full time in the media space as an #Enterprisearchitect , which means I like exploring how things work together, and the people who use the tools we #sysadmin work so hard on.
