Has Sony fixed the XPERIA 1 V? Is XIaomi still "cheating" on 4K video?
It's about to get TOASTY in here!
***** Google is now implicitly endorsing the violence and worse of the Jan 6 insurrection *****
Let's be clear about what #Google's decision to permit election fraud videos to return to #YouTube really means. Election denialism led DIRECTLY to the horrors of Jan 6. By claiming that such videos are just like any other form of political speech, Google is wittingly or unwittingly ENDORSING that violence into the future. Unfortunately, it's that simple. And as someone who loves YouTube, I am both disappointed and disgusted. -L
#YouTube appears to be refusing to provide data behind their decision to begin hosting election disinformation again. Maybe it's just FOLLOW THE MONEY? If not, give us the data!
#YouTube just surfaced for me a fantastic 2020 documentary about Herb Alpert and A&M records, etc. Wonderful! Free for now on YouTube Movies & TV (at least in the U.S.). I love YouTube! - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OveFOGZdm4
In this video, I show how I journal in my Daily Notes with Obsidian. Recently updated my #Obsidian Daily Notes template by incorporating #BulletJournal principles in it. It has made my daily notes a richer record of my life, and best of all, I'm having so much fun doing it and I am more consistent in it!

Camera Thermal Throttling: Has Sony Fixed the XPERIA 1 V?
Tracking JUST 4K video recording, let's see if phones this year are REALLY running cooler than phones sold last year!
Pretty soon CNN's viewership is going to be so small that they can list all of their viewers by name on a screen like you see some #YouTube creators do for their Patreon followers. Except some of those creators need several screens because they will have more followers than CNN has viewers.
***** Why do you see those boom microphones on old TV shows on #YouTube? *****
I'm sometimes asked why when you watch episodes of older TV shows on YouTube, you often see the boom microphones flitting around over the actors at the top of frame, for example, in Johnny Carson's "Tonight Show" and various others. Were the productions really that sloppy?
No, they were not. Analog televisions had considerable "overscan" to hide the "vertical blanking interval" when the cathode ray tube beam or beams would whip back to the upper left of an image to start drawing the next (interlaced, two scans per full image) frame, meaning a considerable number of "lines" of the picture were never seen on conventional TVs, especially at the top. So these shows were shot with that in mind.
When these shows are encoded to digital, if care isn't taken to crop the transcoding in the same manner as the original, those "invisible" lines showing the top of an image that previously could not be seen may become visible. Similarly, other artifacts of the "invisible" lines, including flickering closed captioning data ("line 21") and other data may appear for the same reason.
A similar but different problem can occur in films when boom microphones and other stage equipment become visible in some transfers, but this typically is due to aspect ratio and related theatrical projection "masking" issues, which I will discuss at another time. -L
Me just minding my own business, listening to #music through #YouTube when suddenly - a sped-up / #nightcore version of #BonVoyage shows up in my playlist.
So I've seen the brilliant Beatles parody "The Rutles" many times since I saw its original network TV airing many years ago. #YouTube just surfaced for me the segment where they're supposedly introduced on the Ed Sullivan show (yeah, I saw that actual classic Beatles performance on Ed Sullivan at the time).
Anyway, I just noticed something in the Rutles segment that I missed up to now.
As you may know, in various of the 60s-era "teenagers dancing" pop music shows (e.g. American Bandstand, etc.) groups would pretend to play their instruments and just mouth their actual recordings (which, ironically, they often didn't play on themselves on those recordings, which were often played by a brilliant group of L.A. session players unofficially called "The Wrecking Crew". But I digress.)
There's a hilarious episode of one of these with Chad and Jeremy "playing" their classic "Summer Song", and you see them glancing at each other and making faces when the background violins come in. Those violins are another story. Oops, digressing again.
So, if you watch these various performances, you'll often see that their electric guitars aren't even plugged in. Nor are there often any visible microphones, not even booms on long shots.
Anyway, in this Rutles bit, I just noticed that they took this one step further. The electric guitars are plugged in, but the guitar cables and mic cables are just piled on the floor cut off raggedly and connected to nothing.

Have you noticed how youtubers complain about the "algorithm" when they lose subscribers, but they never praise the "algorithm" when they grow in popularity?
Ooh, I keep meaning to say if you're interested in seeing how my #clay models and paintings come together, I regularly post #Shorts over on #YouTube (as well as long-form content)
