The mass-surrender of Hamas terrorists in Jabaliya is a clear sign that Hamas totally overestimated its capacities.

The fast pace with which the IDF is moving through the north of the Gaza Strip certainly gives Russia and Iran a big headache. Instead of being bogged down in Gaza, the IDF outperforms. Moscow will have to support Hamas differently if it wants to further benefit from the distraction the Gaza war causes.

Israel defeating Hamas prematurely would be a horror-scenario for Russia.

People say we live in bubbles, and maybe for some people that’s true, but I for one feel like every single area of my life contains right wingers or white cishet moderates talking over me. Every practical facet of every day is the way it is because of neoliberal white supremacy. My entire existence is stunted because of all the bad things they do and say. UH, I don't think so! - Google Bard claims its energy use is "300 watts", and/or about the same as an average American household. Actually it claims both 300 watts and 2,628 kilowatt hours (average
household) -- with the latter simply being the 300 multiplied out for the number of hours in a year. But this is entirely meaningless of course. 300 watts steady state to do WHAT exactly over the course of a year? One reply? A thousand? A million? WHO KNOWS?

My energy consumption depends on several factors, including the complexity of the task I am asked to perform, the hardware infrastructure I run on, and the efficiency of the algorithms I use.

Here are some general estimates:

Power consumption: My typical power consumption is around 300 watts, though this can vary depending on the task at hand. For comparison, a typical laptop consumes around 40 watts.
Energy usage per query: The energy used to answer a simple query is relatively low, around 0.001 kilowatt-hours per query. However, this can increase significantly for complex tasks or those requiring large amounts of data processing.
Annual energy consumption: Based on these figures, my annual energy consumption is estimated to be around 2,628 kilowatt-hours. This is roughly equivalent to the annual energy consumption of an average American household.

There are tons of reasons to vote in local and off-year elections but if you want a small but torn-from-the-headlines poster-child for it, my county is ordering all public entities to shutter their accounts and stop posting on because of all the fascism. Because we elected county and municipal administrations who - and this is important - aren't complete tin-eared assholes.

Watched the second new Doctor Who special last night and I loved it! Been a while since they've done a horror episode this good and weird. And it finally had the doctor address some weird things that were leftover after Chibnall's time as showrunner (e.g. there was no resolution or acknowledgement that half the universe had been destroyed during the Flux specials). And both Tennant and Tate gave a great performance.

I don’t like Netanyahu or Hamas, and I’m glad these stories are getting press. Far from securing Israels future, he puts it in jeopardy. He is short sighted. Jews are the minority globally, and their narrative will not survive this abuse much longer.

Incrementalism and voting for the lesser evil (from their point of view), is how the right overturned Roe v Wade. They got bans on 20 weeks, then 15 weeks, then 8 weeks. Then they got provider facility requirements changed. Every step of the way, we said what their goal was.

It’s the same for tax laws, affirmative action, deregulation, and healthcare.

If you don’t want to vote for the lesser of two evils because you want all or nothing, you’ll get nothing.

@KFuentesGeorge Biden is in a tough spot. That’s what Putin wants, and it’s why Hamas attacked. Ge probably got them weapons somehow, but that’ll take some time to sort out.

What is certain, is that Hamas is a threat to global stability. Unfortunately, Netanyahu is the last person we should be trusting to diligently avoid innocent casualties.

Document everything. We must get independent observers on the ground there as soon as possible.
