If you get mad when you see employees at a business you are patronizing laughing, enjoying each other's company, and goofing off, you're a dick. Empathize with people working a shitty underpaid job, and let them enjoy what little fun they get.

The truth is I've always been an old lady, I want to go to a bar at 4 in the afternoon, and listen to great music, but it can't be too loud, I want a couple good drinks, and leave before it gets too busy, so I can have dinner, and get back home. I need to have plenty of time to watch Godzilla movies in my PJ's, and snug before my first pre-bed nap.

I'm pretty sure I"ve been an old lady for about 20 years now.

Thinking about how to approach this home purging project...

Most advice seems to be to start with the area that is most impactful when you walk into your home. A lot of the reasoning for this tied to the impression it gives guests.

I get the logic, but the truth of the current reality is that I do not have guests into my home.

The other part is... I'm not doing this for guests. It's for ✨ me ✨ To create a space I don't hate being in.

For stuff like this always start with easy wins. Set a couple of quick easy goals. Get your dopamine high from those accomplishments. That will put you in a better mood to take on the next easiest and then the next easiest...

Now I just really, really hope he behaves himself. I know he *will * eventually settle down, he used to be an office dog a few years ago with his previous owner.

Hopefully they'll be patient with us!

    My guess as to why there are so many mentally ill people in Gotham:

    The Joker and Harley Quinn fall into a giant open vat of chemicals in a factory that make them "crazy". So, I'm assuming working by the fumes of said open vat of chemicals for a long period of time would have a similar effect. All of Gotham problems have to do with poverty and infrastructure as usual.

    blaidddrwg,
    @blaidddrwg@realsocial.life avatar

    @RickiTarr

    Art imitates life.

    Lead poisoning in Rome possibly linked to mental health issues.

    London pollution since the Industrial Revolution has been linked to mental and physical health issues.

    Now, here in the US we have studies that show a correlation between pollution and mental health paired with extremists who are decimating our health care system.

    We have been Gotham for a very long time.

    Does anyone else have trouble doing one thing at a time? Like if I'm doing chores it helps to have a podcast or talk to someone, or watching TV, I need to do something with my hands, like a little handy craft, or a simple game. I love movies, but the movie has to be absolutely fascinating for me to want to go to a theater where I just need to sit there and watch. I have a large amount of tabs open on my phone all the time and I flit back and forth through a bunch of different things. Weed helps calm this down a bit.

    blaidddrwg,

    I'm quite the opposite. I like to have one thing I'm working on in silence, with nothing else to bother me. Silence is my friend.

    My wife is the exact opposite, which makes working together on something very interesting (but still enjoyable). She is my favorite work partner.

    Go figure.

That said, there are others who are not as well-adjusted, professional, or mature who will likely take offense at the language. My recommendation is to replace that language with something that will not draw undue attention."

    "Oh, and welcome to NASA."

    How do you feel about physical touch? I mean this is the broad sense, not necessarily in a sexual way, but you can answer however you wish.

    Personally, I enjoy it a lot, and find it comforting, but only from really specific people. If strangers or people I don't know well want to hug me, it's okay, but I won't seek it out. I think handshakes are weird. Hey, you want to hold hands with a stranger for a short amount of time for some reason?

    blaidddrwg,
    @blaidddrwg@realsocial.life avatar

    @RickiTarr

    Random touches from strangers tend to make me flinch, which becomes an entire embarrassing thing in itself.

    Handshakes are ok. Fistbumps are better. Knowing when to do one or the other is an emotional ordeal.
