Here is a Willow Warbler performing on a branch.

This bird weighs between 7-12 gms and eats a wide variety of small insects and spiders. {Fruit and berries in autumn}. I don't see these often at all.

Robins sing nearly all year round and despite their cute appearance, they are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights.

I'm trying to convince the last friends I have left on Facebook, X, Threads, or BlueSky to join the Fediverse. Some have tried but felt a sense of loneliness. Nowadays, many people are so used to doing what algorithms suggest that they can no longer make independent choices.
My timeline here, on the other hand, is beautiful.
I see what I want, I follow people who post what I like, and no one tells me what I should do. Freedom may come with a "cost," but whatever it is, it's worth the effort. Always.

It was sunny, but very cold today. A flock of starlings has taken over the mealworm feeders and driven the bluebirds away. I try to scare the starlings off, but it is a losing battle. We have found that if you fill the mealworms feeders just before sunset, the starlings have already left, but the bluebirds are still there. (The picture is soft because the light was fading.)

@carpingdiem What do you mean with "soft"? Because the context is the photo itself, you can't mean the birds. If you referring to the background, then I'm glad it became "soft", because those birds give it a nice contrast.

No matter what you think of Biden, his age, his policies, he is no dictator. He believes in democracy. We cannot let Trump anywhere near the White House again.

We had a our first real freeze last night and this morning the young American goldfinches couldn't understand why the water was so hard. I restored normality by putting liquid water in the birdbath.

I spotted this tailless goldfinch (right) trying to access the feeder. Its feathers were a mess, as if it had just been mauled by a predator. The other birds were very mean to it and drove it away from the feeder. It did not return.
On a cold day like today, lots of birds are at the feeder and competition is fierce. At the top of the feeder, two goldfinches vie for the right to wait for the next opening.
Normality restored. Liquid water is in the birdbath so birds can drink. The goldfinch says, "Good job, human."

I've had terrible luck photographing migrating warblers in the wild this year. But today, as I looked out on my deck where the feeders are located, a yellow rumped warbler landed right in front of me and proceeded to forage for crumbs. Maybe I've been doing it all wrong.

@QasimRashid Everytime I read something like this, I imagine that an author of a post or news expects people to be shocked as they should.

But either people rather read newspapers that won't contain such news or they're more like

"Who is Anne Frank? Nevermind, I scroll/read the next headline."
"Why should our kids care about German history? It doesn't concern 'Merica."

Or maybe even something wrong and stupid like this:

"They're doing it right! No room for teaching about transgender."
