Not everything is on fire.

Household debt likely due to interest rate increases and inflation. Both due to poor economic policies over the last 16 years. You just can't have 0% prime -- that just leads to inflation .. which leads to higher interest rates.

The homeless rate marginally higher than 2020, though still less than 10 years ago.

Sorry but I lived as a worker through the 80s and still now. It was much much harder then.

Esp the 80s and 90s. The biggest difficulty is housing prices. When I bought my first house in the 90s, I paid 11% int. My current house was more expensive but cost me less due to 3% int. I was lucky but now that low interest rate increased buying power and demand thus crazy high prices.

These be the gluttony years. So many people have so much more than the last 40 years.

Prigozhin just did his power grab to Rostov.

He wants control over the military.. He wants Putin to give him that control.

Putin may be in on this to get rid of Gerasimov and Shoigu without dirtying his hands... Call the troops back from Ukraine once they're gone.. And try to save his own ass by riding the coattails of Prigozhin...

Oh. This is tough .. part of the problem is that issued a warrant for Progozhin. I'm trying to imagine Pootin backing down from that. And Progozhin isn't going to just hand himself over. That would be the end of him.

They could just try to save face but Pootin is going to have to do something to ensure his chef doesn't go ballistic again.

Still reading and hearing takes that Mastodon has “failed” as a Twitter alternative. Listen, it’s ok if it doesn’t work for someone—unlike Twitter, I think Mastodon requires more effort and cultivation to produce an experience that feels meaningful. It’s been worth it for me. But there is definitely a smell of…not sour grapes but people making broad assumptions based on their own experience while ignoring millions of other people. Will Mastodon top 100 million? Who knows. Who cares?

I don't know how I feel about the bill. I do know that it was quite expected.

I've been saying for decades that if the industry doesn't police themselves, state governments would. All they would say is "guns don't kill people, people kill people" but then tie up any effort to solve those issues with the "people".

It was coming, it wasn't hard to predict. Just surprised it took this long.
