A couple of weeks ago, the European Broadcasting Union () asked us to write a guest article about our experience with / the , explain the basics, and point out the advantages. :mastodon:

Challenge accepted. 👍

People of Mastodon,

We'd like to say thank you once again. We'll soon hit 1000 followers – after merely 36 hours on this platform. Truly incredible.

Since we love networks, we'd like to follow back more of you. Unfortunately, that's not possible at the moment – for technical reasons. We hope this can be fixed in the next couple of days.

Stay federated & catch you later!

2100 followers and counting. Wow. Thanks again.

More posts are coming up. And we'll also address your comments and questions asap.

Have a good start into the week!

Dear community,

It seems the idea of following back every active (and friendly) account was a bit naive. 😳

We gained lots of followers in only a few weeks, we faced several technical glitches / limitations, and our main TL has become rather chaotic (yes, we know there are lists).

So we'll now have to restructure a little. Please don't take it personal when we unfollow you again and focus more on other media / tech accounts.

Remember: you can always comment – and also get in touch via email.

Wrapping up our 4th week on Mastodon: With 2700+ followers, lots of favs and boosts and other interactions – and a new logo in our social media navbar. :mastodon:

Looks like we're here to stay. Btw: Considering the way things are going over in Elonland, a full X-it at the end of 2023 is not unlikely.

Thank you for your support and your comments. Have a good weekend! 👋

🌠 a verified account

You. Are. Fantastic. 🎈

Answer to FAQ #1: Even though it might be cool and interesting, we're not going to set up our own server any time soon (sorry).

Furthermore: Please keep in mind we're R&D people at DW – not a newsroom.

Have a good weekend & catch you later!

Hi!

We're about to close shop for 2023, do some battery recharging – and also take a social media break (remember: we're an R&D team, not a newsroom). This is, in fact, our final post this year. ✅

We'd like to take the opportunity and thank you for the warm welcome here on Mastodon. So many followers, so many interesting and helpful comments, so much positive energy. 🙌

We'll definitely be back soon (on 08/01/24, presumably). 🗓️

Until then: Stay safe, stay civilized, happy holidays! ✨
