many years ago, and i can't recall why, i predicted that because of surveillance and other dumb nonsense, the "real internet" would become very similar to tor - opaque, hard to track, p2p, and 'kinda underground', and the 'main internet' would be basically like the inside of a mall. mall cops, store fronts, expensive useless crap, lots of ads.
if you need to 'buy stuff' you go to the 'real internet', but your friends, your hobbies, the stuff you like, is on the 'private internet'.
The elite have kept the world from progressing to hold on to their wealth. They’ve kept us all apart with their propaganda and gaslighting and stemmed the type of cooperative creativity that could have solved many of our problems a long time ago.
Game devs make the weirdest shit ever sometimes. Here's a "Sci-Fi Cooking game where you take up the role of a Poultry Peddler stuck in Antarctica and longing for a way out. Cook your illegal eggs for those who look hungry."
FYI, someone just asked me, "Could you please put a CW on those US politics posts?"
I said no sorry,, just mute me.
I don't understand CWing political posts. And that doesn't mean you need to @ me explaining why. I know THEIR reasons, I just disagree with them and won't do it.
I respect CWs for other things, but not politics. Politics is news and people need to be aware of what's happening. It's not gory or violent, it's politics.
Fun fact: "The Tragedy Of the Commons" is a hoax created by the white nationalist Garrett Hardin to justify stealing land from colonized people and moving it from collective ownership, "rescuing" it from the inevitable tragedy by putting it in the hands of a private owner, who will care for it properly, thanks to "rational self-interest":
@arstechnica Caffeine hits its limits pretty quick, and Taurene (guarana) is something you get over after a while when you realise it's sending you nuts.
The fact that Tim Scott is refusing to say he’d follow the law and not try to overthrow the results of a free and fair election should scare anyone listening. This is how democracies end.
👇🏼
WELKER: Will you commit to accepting the 2024 election results?
TIM SCOTT: At the end of the day, the 47th president will be Donald Trump
WELKER: Wait -- yes or no, will you accept the results?
