My biggest #gripe with #Mastodon is reach and the ability to discover stuff outside of chronological scrolling. Lists in #BlueSky make that better. Imho the algorithms in #Threads are too intrusive.
If there were simpler ways to connect with different topics on here it would make it excellent, to me at least. I guess it might come down to why you use different social media.
@Cstnskld I second hashtags. Fedilab lets me follow those I find interesting. Works well for me. When i find someone I like, I dive into their feed, often finding more interesting people thru their boosts.

#Mastodon doesn't directly support quoting toot like the bird app. Support (Literally) Quoting Public Toots https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/22793 is still open. I hope they release support for this. This is killer feature.
@nixCraft I never have understood why this wasn't considered a priority feature. It is very hard to talk about a post you are referencing when people can't actually see the post.
there really aren't that many good looking #mastodon desktop clients sadly (outside of #macos but then they all look more or less the same because of #swiftui, not to say they don't look great)

Please add alt-text to your photos/pictures it only takes a minute and does not have to be fancy. My policy is not to boost images without alt-text and I am not the only one.
This is one of the cultural things I like about Mastodon, the inclusiveness. Please don't ruin it.

@Dianora Adding my voice to this. Until late last year, I was effectively blind due to cataracts. I couldn't really see the images too well, but Alt-Text made them accessible to me. Anything accessible to the disabled is automatically accessible to the abled, so PLEASE use Alt-Text so we visually disabled people can enjoy the pictures TOO!
