The interesting thing about the EU's Digital Markets Act is that it's "we're just going to treat all the biggest American tech companies as monopolies" as a law. It's both unprecedented and amazing that the Biden administration sleepwalked into it.
This is like the EU's version of the TikTok divestment law but killing multiple birds with one stone.
The #Chinese counterparts are insignificant abroad, except for #ByteDance, #TikTok's parent company.
Given that #Germany's #SAP has a 99% global market penetration rate* in #ERP system of international companies, it would need to be counted in as well, if it weren't in the #B2B market only.
The same is true for the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Ltd.
#help request: I have a client that’s a large enterprise #tech company making #B2B software for marketers.
They’re looking to get speaking placements for their executives into large tech #conferences and #events. Within tech, B2B, software, or general marketing and advertising, with 10,000+ attendees.
Anybody have contacts or tips they can share? Really appreciate it.
Haven’t pitched large clients like this before so I’m nervous 😬
Here's a pretty good (IMO) b2b tip to help your sales team utilize your SEO learnings.
With a #b2b business, one way you can apply #SEO learnings is by researching trends in #search queries (seasonality, news-related events, etc), learning how those are impacting actual businesses that would be potential customers, and sharing that among the #sales teams.
That's just one way SEO can help directly support b2b sales.
But sending an out-of-the-blue meeting invitation to a cold lead is the wrong move, ONE-HUNDRED PERCENT of the time.
Don’t do this. Don’t ever do this.
It’s not chutzpah. It’s not being a go-getter. It is NOT standard practice, either for corporate sales in general or your industry in particular. It is sure as fuck neither taking the initiative nor being proactive.
Something SAAS companies should take into account but don’t: your company name should be unique and not just a generic word like “front.” That way users of your software can use web search more effectively without getting the generic results about whatever real world thing they named their company after.
#Apple can only get away with it cause it was founded pre-internet and they’re huge.
I’m low-key convinced that everybody - especially grown adults who pay taxes and particularly businesses with shareholders - is sleeping on TikTok in 2025
As someone who heads social media at a corporate level, I wonder how others are navigating internal discussions over what do with Twitter/X?
Does your company have guidelines regarding platforms it uses to communicate/interact externally? If not, what argument would you make to pull the plug on X?
supersized models powering the latest wave of so-called “generative” ai rely on gargantuan amounts of data. Having already helped themselves to much of the internet—often without permission—model builders are now seeking out new data sources to sustain the feeding frenzy. A data land grab is under way
I've finally put together my full love story with @SparkToro, the content I've made about them, and all of my shoutouts about their software and their team. 💜 💛 💙
If you're wondered why I like this software so much... this is your answer.
This post is the culmination of 9 months of engagement, hard work, and sincere passion. I hope you enjoy.
Announcement - I'm giving a talk at the B2B Sales and Marketing Exchange conference in Boston on August 9th!
I'll be giving an extended and updated version of my superfans talk, explaining why #B2B business should be finding, nurturing, and encouraging their biggest fans. If you're in #marketing and around Boston that week, come say hello!
Marketers: my number-one tip for making a cold approach to a prospect is DON’T DO IT. If you’re going to, anyhow, my number-two tip is: Do not pretend it’s a warm approach.
Tip number three? If I ignored your first cold email, don’t send a second one that pretends like we’re in a conversation or that I owe you my availability for a call.
If you did your homework on me and sent 100 emails, but I’ve never replied, email number 101 is still a cold call.
In one year, I went from an unknown new face to a decently well-connected insider of the #B2B#marketing world.
All of you on Mastodon have seen me live out this journey in real-time. But if you did have questions on how the heck I managed it… here are the answers.
As I tell Ramli in this #podcast#interview: my secret is simply liking people. And enjoying connections with cool folks who do awesome work. No more.
