So, I used videos for an In-App Event for the first time, but it looks pixelated initially… I understand it's due to video compression, but I’d rather see the poster frame until it has buffered in higher resolution...? 🤔
Does anyone have experience with videos in In-App Events? Any thoughts on whether videos might help improve conversion (or get more attention) compared with still images? 🤓
Could we be playing Saturn games on our iPhones? Saturn emulator Yaba Sanshiro has applied to the App Store after Apple changed its guidelines — get the details in my story:
Quote from Kishin Manglani on the #VoiceDream mailing list:
"Following our recent announcement to transition #VoiceDream to a subscription, we received an overwhelming response from thousands in our community. Your feedback, along with the impactful stories shared about Voice Dream being a pivotal part of your daily lives, has led us to reverse this change.
We will continue to provide access to the app's existing features at no additional cost.
As we continue developing Voice Dream, some new features may be offered as part of a subscription, but the current capabilities will remain free to those who have already purchased Voice Dream.
For those who have already moved to a subscription, it's no longer necessary to continue using the app. You may cancel your subscription, but we welcome you to keep it active to support ongoing development."
Having gone to cancel my #VoiceDream subscription in the #iOS#AppStore while it is still a free trial, they sure do have an interesting list of plans. The monthly subscription options range from £4.99 to £19.99, and the annual options from £49.99 to £119.99. There is also an option labelled "Premium", which is also annually billed, at £79.99.
Flyleaf is a “read-later” app that displays saved articles from the web in a meticulously designed reading view, without popups, ads or other distractions.
The distinguishing feature of Flyleaf is its unparalleled book-style pagination. You can read articles page by page instead of scrolling vertically.
Completely bewildered by the #VoiceDream subscription announcement. The blog post links to #Stripe for making a subscription payment, but that's not how subscriptions to #iOS apps are usually managed. Meanwhile, I can't see anything in the app itself about an account, #AppStore purchases, or subscriptions. If I pay through Stripe today, am I supposed to assume that at some point, the iOS app will be updated to respect that new subscription?
Ok #Apple, I have an app that runs on iOS 17+ only. But you require an #AppStore screenshot for a 5.5" screen. The latest device with that screen is iPhone 8 Plus… which runs iOS 16.4. So how do I take a screenshot now?
Wpisałem frazę „portfel bitcoin” w Apple App Store, zainstalowałem pierwszą aplikację, którą zobaczyłem (wyglądała legalnie), przelałem bitcoiny i natychmiast zostały one wysłane donikąd.
There’s a new way to browse Apple’s App Store for its Apple Vision Pro. On Apple’s website, you can now find a dedicated “App Store for Apple Vision Pro” page with all the details about visionOS apps. 9to5mac has more: https://flip.it/Q7R53r #Tech#Technology#Apple#AppStore#VisionPro
The reason I'm not really liking the idea of sideloading and alternative app stores is the convenience. One place for updates, payments, subscription. I don't want my device to run multiple autoupdate services, pay in multiple places. The moment the app is moved outside the App Store I'm simply ditching it...😅 #Apple#AppStore
The walled garden that is the #Apple#AppStore is neither fish nor fowl. It’s not open, there’s oversight, but that oversight is bad. Who does that policy satisfy?
It looks like #Apple is using salami tactics with the @EU_Commission on #DMA compliance, giving up tiny slices in hope that might sway (and shut up) the regulator and the public.
I sincerely hope the Commission's enforcement team is not being fooled by this.
