Started at 5/31 11am ET. We’ll see how fast this baby moves on a 12yo #MacMini using #ProtonVPN & gigabit #fios through a #glinet#AXT1800 router, a CAT6-connected AP, a #MoCA -connected AP, & finally CAT6. It’s a circuitous route, I know, but these are the limitations of a 74yo house.
FWIW speeds right now are slower than usual: 174 Mbps down, 178 up. Usually in the 500-600 range. Maybe it’s the age of the #Mac, or I’m splitting between the #Ente & speed test?
30 min in and we’re 5% done. Not sure if/how #Ente prioritizes the upload queue but extrapolating out, this suggests we’ll be done in 10 hours, or ~8pm ET. Honestly that’s not terrible considering that’s a few decades worth of pictures and videos.

Btw.. Their ui is very poorly made. Lots of important, normally useful options are hidden, placed without any common sense or not available at all. In this topic #ente for example is much better done, with the usability in mind. Imho.

Ente offre un proprio sistema di tag e stanno anche implementando delle ricerche avanzate con sistemi automatici (sempre con crittografia e2e) per cui cercando “cane” ti vengono fuori tutti i cani che trova indipendentemente dai tag. Fa anche la ricerca per nome dei file ma secondo me la ricerca tramite tag presenti negli EXIF non te lo saprei dire perché non saprei nemmeno come testarlo sinceramente, magari potresti provare a chiederlo direttamente a loro (rispettono sempre con cortesia). Sono praticamente ovunque: Mastodon, Matrix, Discord etc.

As #twilio is sunsetting their #authy desktop apps, I am wondering if there are any open source #2fa apps out there that support both desktop and mobile, maybe even Apple Watch...? Twilio still supports the mobile apps, but I don't want to get caught unprepared if they ever drop those, too.
@ParadeGrotesque I upload my photos using the #ente app, use their cli to download them to my desktop and #rsync encrypted to my 3 buckets (in 3 different services, of course). The download and backup part I do periodically when I remember :)

Zur Abendzeit konnte keine #Auffangstation mehr zur Aufnahme der ca. 1 Woche alten Küken erreicht werden. Daraufhin erklärten sich ein Kollege mit seiner Frau (Tiermedizinische Fachangestellte) als Zieheltern bereit. Wissen zur Unterbringung & Aufzucht ist somit da.
