📣 PSA:

@chikorita157 and I are accepting to moderate Sakurajima Social for the long term. Some of our community members may recall that I was originally here as a Quality Assurance (QA) Technician, but I decided to help out with moderating on this instance's open beta after the first wave of Mastodon Social . I'm afraid that my job here is only temporary, and as a college student, I will be starting summer classes on June 5th, meaning that I won't be able to do much moderation during that time.

If you would like to be a moderator at Sakurajima Social, please DM @chikorita157; you will need to meet the following requirements:

  1. You cannot have an account on a blocked instance.

  2. You must have been on the for at least one calendar month (you can calculate the earliest date you can apply today here; be sure to press Today before you press Calculate New Date).

Although not a requirement, it is recommended that you have experience being a moderator, you and @chikorita157 are mutual followers, and you have experience with / / (we accept mods who do not have experience on these platforms, but it will be harder to learn how to use it, especially with some of the features being potentially. overwhelming).

We would greatly appreciate some for this message to get out there and for new recruits to see this.

Thank you all for your time.

I am old fashioned in that I genuinely like client applications, which is why I tried 18 apps on Android, iOS, macOS, and Windows. These were the best ones.

Bigou,

@maxeddy Wish someone would do the same with apps for the services known as "the ". (, & , 3 services also based on , like Mastodon)

Not that there is much "key compliant" apps, like there is for Masto.

j, to fediverse

Still amused by all the posts declaring that " will never get any traction" because it doesn't have [insert completely unnecessary Twit feature here]. It's like people think Masto just suddenly appeared out of the ether six months ago. It's been here for years, and it's just fine. 😂

Bigou,

@j That, and is far from the only service of the . You have , the (, & ), , , , …

Most of which offer more functions than Masto does, and often add fuctions Twitter never had. (… Or have long since removed.)

I successfully completed the deletion of my mastodon.social account :mastodont:

Now I know that *key will be the next great thing to grow.

what's a low system requirements server at this point?

Hope there is some more apps beeing developed for the , , & , (and maybe somme others) because so far, they arrent well supported by native apps. (Be it for , , or even .)

How the hell have *key apps been so under the radar for 9 years?!

(At least here in the West.)

Today is the day I talk about what #Calckey is and what it does. 🧵

In this thread, I will explore what I believe to be the most important features of Calckey.

SPOILER ALERT: While Calckey focuses on microblogging, that's where its similarities with #Mastodon (and #Twitter) end.

@fediversenews

caos,

@benoegen In (and also in & )) there is the feature of "Antennas". This allows you to define (and combine) keywords to follow - more than just following hashtags. @atomicpoet

I have an announcement for all Sakurajima (.moe and .social), Urusai.social, and Miruku.cafe users!

I just learned something that every citizen user should know: When looking at a post or profile from an external instance that is not using the same platform as your instance, you should look at that post or profile on that instance. The reason why that is so important to know is because that not all instances will not display the complete post or profile of an external instance.

I learned this earlier today while discussing a few bugs with @panos and @naskya, mainly about reactions not going through.

I wanted to let everyone know about this because this is very important, especially since we're on different platforms: Urusai.social and Sakurajima.moe use glitch-soc (a variation of ), meanwhile Sakurajima.moe and Miruku.cafe use and (both variations of ) respectively. With everyone using different platforms and thinking that would transfer everything over, there's bound to be misunderstandings.

That's why I wanted to let everyone know about this. all.

@crafti wovon überrascht? von oder von @gnulinux ? 😁

? (also in Bezug auf Foundkey)

@Kaiteki @caos

There are also the following in the middleweight category:

You can find a great list here: https://codeberg.org/fediverse/delightful-fediverse-apps For example, maybe a writing-centric platform might be more fitting (depending on what you have in mind).

I'm pretty sure Mastodon is the first social network I've been on that didn't immediately ask me to betray all of the people in my address book.
