I've a question about modern "homebrew" games made for old consoles:
Why is the original Gameboy such a popular target? Itch lists a whopping 6406 games tagged as targeting Gameboy. The second-most popular old console is the NES, with only 1848 games on Itch: less than a third as many as the Gameboy. The Gameboy Advance sits at only 450 games on Itch.
Soooo, in other news Solaria has a Steam page now!
I got approved on NYE, so thank you whichever Steam employee was working that day 🥳
Naturally, it's early days for the game so it's early days for the page too. But it's there, it'll be improved and filled in more as the game progresses, and it's very exciting!
22 wishlists already and only 15 or so are from friends and family, I'm calling that a success haha 😎
Is there anyone here who sells their game on steam and itch, interested to know the difference in the number of sales of these two stores. I suspect, but I want to hear real examples. How much is this difference at least in % ?
Have you ever heard of the game Tablut? My journey to discovering it started when I was visiting a viking exhibit in Montreal.
It is part of a family of ancient strategy games called 'Tafl' that have variations in many countries. It has Welsh versions, Norwegian versions, Irish versions...
I made a digital version of the game board and exported it as an APK so people can play it on their phone or tablet with a friend.
It's the @itchio Creator Day! As always, though our individual issues are PWYW, we also have the 2023 Winter, Spring, and Summer Collections that bundle together three issues and are $10 each!
Any other #programmers that can help me find motivation? At work it’s easier to set and achieve goals in a siloed environment. At home there’s too many options and idk what to do. Game design really intrigues me but I lack artistic creativity #coding#python
Do you have an #itch to #scratch? Most of my personal #projects (some publicly released, some not) come from wanting to solve my problems, my way. As you go about your usual life, take note of things that make you think "that's something a computer could do for me" or "it would be easier if...". I know this is kind of trite advice.
I've found it's difficult to make progress on #problems that I think I should want to work on, rather than things I actually want to work on.
#Cacophony update 0.1.3 adds flac exporting. I wanted to include this in the initial release but I didn't understand how to do it. Turns out, it's not hard!
