oak trees heal orchids
***Someone gave me a throw away plant with only one leaf left. So I blessed it and put it up in an oak. This is the result! I had to make some art out of it too. :)
Found this orchid half price at the nursery yesterday. No label but it looks like a small dendrobium. Might be ‘chocolate chip’ based on the flower shape and colors. Here’s hoping it rehabs! It’s pretty cute but currently a bit dried out and wrinkly.
"Noor Siddiqui founded #Orchid so people could “have healthy babies.” Now she’s using the company’s gene technology on herself—and talking about it for the first time."
Like maybe life is too short for this but I spent the first quiet half hour at work seeing what links there are from Stay Gold to Film Out & maybe I need to watch all the #BTS Japanese MV in order....
I just got an email from my local #rockgarden society notifying the death of a member. In fairness I did not know the person, but here's why it's sad:
When I attend, I am the youngest person there.
I'm 43, and the youngest person in the room.
This is true in many niche clubs. In the Dallas #Orchid Society, I was the youngest. In the #Bonsai I'm one of a few under 60.
The median age of these groups has to be somewhere around 70. As they dwindle, we lose valuable experience. There will be no one to digitize their archives, no one to teach hands on skills, no one to pass the passion down.
I can't stress it enough, join the clubs. Access to their old magazines is worth the money and time.
