Happy #Saturday everyone! Weekends tend to be slow, but we've got two articles for you! First, have you ever thought your day was just the worst? David did too, but not anymore. Here is his piece.
The Day I Realized My Job Was More Than Just #Trash
I recently tried Day One for journaling which I liked but had some issues with. But it did lead me to think about the connection/process of private journaling and blogging as well as a few new app options.
From iAWriter to Notebooks and Apple Notes, finding the ideal app mix for blogging and journaling.
Late edit: Thanks to @devondundee l'm also looking at Everlog as an option.
The #Hachyderm stuff going on with the admin leaving is really bothering me and making me question the longevity of the fediverse. 😞 Think I'll stick to my blog.
Does your blog say that you're not getting any (or hardly any) traffic from social? It's probably because several popular social sites aren't trackable -- like this one. This is a good read from @randfish
It's no surprise that this month as been hard on me and my family, but recently I've noticed my friends and colleagues are having a challenging time too. So what gives?
I've noticed that my blog posts get much less engagement than they used to. It's entirely possible that my blog posts have just sucked recently. But I'm also wondering if we are seeing a Twitter-like effect that makes people less willing to click away from Mastodon now that the network here is much more robust. #blog#blogs#blogging

I just tried out TinaCMS but unfortunately it (like many other such CMS's) expects media to get thrown into a single big bucket of a "static/media/" folder. I've liked how easy it is to keep track of a post's media since it's in the same folder as the post's index.md, but maybe it's not worth it if it means I can't wrap the site in a web-based editing experience.
I feel like I need to diversify where I'm posting online so I will be adding new posts on it soon. 😁 I feel like I shouldn't put all my eggs in one basket by only posting on the fediverse. 😅
I already have 5 posts on the blog already, but definitely need to add more. 😊
Every time I see something about an instance suddenly shutting down, it makes me realize how important having your own blog or website is. However, setting up my blog is still something I'm working on. 😅 Feel like I should put more energy towards a blog than posting on the fediverse probably. 😆
