Question for the #hardware geeks.
Every night i take my mac to the living room, bring it back, and plug it in to power with the lid closed. Each morning I plug it into the monitor and open the lid.

Why is it that all of my #bluetooth devices (mouse & airpods) seem to be reconnected just fine, but my #Glove80 split keyboard, & the #Kinesis split keyboard refuse to. I have to restart bluetooth on the computer for them to be connected.

???

Looking at again, keychron seems like the top option for customizable tenkeyless, any other suggestions?

I'd like something a bit more colorful than black, maybe pink. Thinking tenkeyless, not sure about the even smaller ones. I do use the arrow keys sometimes

Hello fediverse !

I took my time to make a proper #intro but here I am.

I love #movies, #TTRPG, hacking stuff (#software and #hardware), taking care of the #environment, travelling (🚂) and #meeting new people.

You can use the pronouns he/him, but don't expect of me the usual reactions consistent with this genre. 🙄

I am open to any recommendation ! (or if you just want to drop by)

PS: I will post sporadically in #English and in #French. ✉️

Why I like analog synths and use them now and then. Might be interesting if you're also toying with the idea of getting an analog synth. Plus, there are a few chord tips.

Active vs Passive Hub / dock

So I have 2 usb-c hubs.
Never noticed but the cheaper one does not make MacBook Air recognise the keyboard when attached through it.

The expensive Belkin one works fine. It is not clear exactly why.

Seems like the expensive one's specifically having PD (power delivery) can identify an external keyboard is connected & relays that to the MacBook.

Looks like these are called active hubs & supposedly have a chip in them?

I just replaced a keyboard in a ThinkPad T450 laptop. Some of the keys were not working. When I took the keyboard out to re-seat the connection and test it, I noticed there was some sticky residue likely from a liquid spill.

Replacing the keyboard with another used keyboard fixed the problem of some of the keys not working, so I isolated the problem to the keyboard part and not the ribbon cable connection or other cause.

Can any Sun hardware aficionados help me to identify the models of workstation in this picture?

I believe they are likely the same model but I am most interested in knowing what the top machine is.

I don’t have these machines in my possession to be able to check for any other info or take new photos sadly.
