T levels are perfect
E levels seem seriously high for the dosages - maybe I have some weird natural affinity for processing estrogen? 😉 ... but even me, I'm going to have to simply agree when my GP says we need to cut the dose down a bit

Le contributeur connu sous le pseudo de "Chouette bougonne" qui a multiplié en discussion les messages irrespectueux et dénigrants sur moi, la communauté #trans/#LGBT et les contributeurices en général, s'en sortira probablement avec un administrateur qui lui fera les gros yeux avant de l'inviter à aller boire une pinte, et ce en dépit des multiples remarques et du blocage temporaire qu'il a déjà subis ces deux dernières années, soit à peu près l'âge de son compte.
Il n'était pas le seul, mais c'était clairement le plus acharné du lot.

Ne perdez pas votre temps et votre énergie. Ces gens ne changeront jamais à moins d'être débarqués de l'extérieur.

A few days ago, a #trans elder talked about the joy of seeing the quarantrans (what I think of as the Trans Class of 2020, those for whom realization was catalyzed by pandemic) finally reaching their transition goals.
What wasn’t mentioned was how bittersweet it is from this perspective. It is very much a graduation, but that carries with it this push away from the community as well.
Background data points: Years ago, when I was cracked-but-closeted, a friend talked about how people tend not to stay in trans groups, as they get into “woodworking” and go on with their lives. (“Woodworking” is fading into the woodwork; we become trans-invisible to society. We’re just women or just men, and not visibly trans.). Data Point #2 was listening to older episodes of a local trans podcast and hearing their thoughts on a trans support group I’m a part of, and how they thought it was a very young group - a bit too young and boisterous for their tastes.

Years of dissociation and masking makes it hard to feel what is me.

Okay, so, cards on the table, I am published as a mixed methods, social science researcher and have helped co-author multiple reports on LGBTQIA+ public mental health and community experiences. Let's just say, I ain't no amateur on this topic.
So, something that drives me nuts in conversations about trans healthcare and especially trans youth gender-affirming care is that people don't understand basic statistical reasoning.
One of the parts of this that clicked for me today on why so many arguments frustrate me is that people don't actually understand how sampling works and how we reason from a specific sample in a study....

Today officially marks 2 months for me taking HRT. The differences have been small so far, but they are there. My skin is definitely softer and I feel my emotions have opened up a bit. Or maybe that's just allowing myself to let that happen. Who can say?

In the 19th century there was a panic about masturbation and its effect on the nation on both sides of the Atlantic.
At the beginning of the 20th century there was a panic about women's liberation, in sex and politics, destroying society.
By the mid 20th century there was a panic about sexual liberation and free love.
Later, in the 70s and 80s, there was a gay panic and gays were presented as predators and deviants.
Now, in the early 21st century, there is a trans panic and its trans and non-binary people who are seen as the social threat.
These are five separate panics across over 150 years, But, actually, they're not separate at all: they are the same panic generated by the same people that comes again and again and again in waves. Its a panic generated by the sexually puritan and socially authoritarian whose politics is that of coercion and control.
This tendency is the ultimate enemy of all lovers of social and personal freedom.
