An epic closing in northern France for the St. Augustine Marching 100. As the band gathered by their buses moments after walking in a D-Day parade in Sainte-Mere-Eglise, France, the band marching behind them, the Voodoo Orchestra from Utah, gathered around the St. Aug musicians and began playing "I'll Fly Away.” An unplanned, organic, absolutely lovely moment. You should have seen the hugs shared between all the young musicians when the music and dancing finally came to an end.

The Queens Garden in Bryce Canyon showcases towering hoodoos in vibrant orange and red hues, creating a breathtaking vista against the bright blue sky. The contrast between lush green pines and rugged, colorful terrain offers a stunning visual feast, with light and shadow adding depth and dimension
I don't know why the state of #Utah is bound and determined to build a port on toxic, sensitive wetlands when there's plenty of toxic, hyper-low-density industrial land around Magna. Heck, the Church has an enormous empty plot right next to the UP Intermodal. Let that be your port.
🦾 Utah Locals Are Getting Cheap 10 Gbps Fiber Thanks To Local Governments
"Tired of being underserved and overbilled by shitty regional broadband monopolies, back in 2002 a coalition of local Utah governments formed UTOPIA — (the Utah Telecommunication Open Infrastructure Agency). The inter-local agency collaborative venture then set about building an “open access” fiber network that allows any ISP to then come and compete on the shared network."
Everyone wants to go where the view is, but the thing is, the view isn't in just one place.
Lots of people hike Angels Landing Trail in Zion National Park, because there's a fantastic view. But if you step off the trail and take another, less well known one, you still get the view.
This is from my very first visit to this amazing place. I was in such awe I only managed to take a couple photos. I've since been back many, many times and have many, many wonderful photos (some of which I've already shared here and more to come, I'm sure.)
»Less than 72 hours after the launch of a reporting form to help #Utah enforce its #transgender#bathroom#ban the Utah auditor’s office says it has received nearly 4,000 complaints — and all of them appear to be “bogus.”«

A close crop of an earlier post from a couple of weeks ago. Also, since I'm on my home computer, I slightly enhanced it using a parametric mask in Darktable to reveal a bit more detail.
#opcOnThisDay in 2018, I brought my dad and his then-girlfriend on a trip through Utah. We stopped at a number of archeology sites on BLM land, including a major petroglyph site, a kiva site, and two other ruin sites. ☀️ #archaeology#utah#ancentralpuebloans#rockart#petroglyphs
A forest in Utah made of a single tree known as Pando has 47,000 stems and has amassed 6,000 metric tons of life in its thousands of years on Earth. It’s the largest living organism on the planet in terms of mass. Naturally, something that large and old has something to say, and recordings released this year let us “hear” it like never before.
