@atomicpoet I feel compelled to tell you there a Devolver Digital #videogame sale going on right now. I haven't gotten any of them (besides the Hotline Miami games, out of their original sale) but I feel really compelled to grab a couple more.

🕹️ Trivia about the game consoles of our childhood
Will start a little series here about me browsing this Club Nintendo issue from July 1995 (Nintendo Power in the US). 📖
I explicitly bought this one recently because I have so fond childhood memories. It must have been one of the few I owned and therefore read endless times. I still remember so much of the content and now I'm excited to refresh these memories.
The cover shows Asterix & Obelix, a PAL exclusive game series. 🐗
..beat 'em up game for the Sega Genesis, and is considered one of the greatest video games of all time. 🏆
Streets of Rage 2 was coded by the same programming team that did the first title of the series. To make it possible to add more features and additional memory cache, the programmers improved the Mega Drive cartridge specifications. 👨💻
🕹️ Trivia about the game consoles of our childhood
One of the PS2's greatest fighters. Hefty, robust gameplay, with a massive roster and a fun story. Bonus Devil Within game is a load of toss though, and the final boss is the franchise's cheatiest yet.
For this #screenshotsaturday, I'm bringing some finishing touches in the map of our small point'n'click game. Hopefully it can soon be added to our Collection!
When I was working on @makemagazine Volume 89 — our #retro issue — the topics of #chiptune, #tracker modules, and #VideoGame soundtracks kept coming up. This gave me an idea: what if we put together a #playlist to go along with the retro section, filled with our authors’ and my own favourite tracks? The results of this wacky idea can be enjoyed below… What are your favourite chiptune/tracker/VGM tracks or memories? 🤘💾🤘
How was your weekend? I love a rainy weekend in the Pacific Northwest corner of America, as it relieves my guilt of doing what I want to do ... staying inside. I read a little, wrote a little, hacked a little ... even played a classic #videogame from the 90s (Curse of Monkey Island on #ScummVM).
I also did a little math. Yeah, been thinking of taking the "Yes, and.." dice mechanics used for luck rolls in #rpg games (not sure who came up with it first), and fusing it with Mythic GM Emulator's Fate Chart, popular with the #solorpg crowd. Since I'm always playing with my notes written in #emacs on the screen, I hacked it in #lisp. Shared the details in case anyone wanted to do something similar in their favorite programming language.
....which were originally developed for the GameCube, were updated with many of the features that were first implemented in Corruption, such as a new control scheme based on the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. 🎮
Other changes include faster load times, updated textures, bloom lighting, and 16:9 widescreen support. 📺
The credits system from Corruption was incorporated into the first two games. 🏆
Going forward I think I'm going to have to ditch my #Videogame podcasts that don't feature at least one host with a kid.
Listening to twenty-somethings that have almost unlimited time and basically no responsibilities is just too unrepresentative of my own experience with life that I really struggle to relate or even enjoy their output.
I've really been enjoying the @crossplayblog podcast called #SpawnPoint, but I refuse to believe that's it for Gaming Parents?
This week we're diving into the very earliest years of fighting games with the original - and far more obscure compared to its storied sequel - Street Fighter!
