The Tories must put #onshore#wind at the heart of the Government’s renewable energy policy. - https://goodlawproject.org/petition/onshore-wind-add-your-name/ "Good Law Project is taking legal action to force Ministers to explain why they’ve excluded onshore wind from the list of infrastructure projects that are nationally significant"
Day-ahead prices have remained below €10 per megawatt-hour for the last week and output in the Mediterranean nation is on track for a record this month. (1/2)
Another amazing day - fully 87% of electricity on the Spanish grid today (Wednesday Feb 28th) is coming from emissions-free sources (wind, solar, hydro, nuclear, etc.)
May the image take you to a perfect summer day, one in which you have no obligations or anything written on a schedule, and you are free to dream . . .
I had stepped outside when I heard the big gust and couldn't figure out what the popping noise of things hitting something was then saw the last part falling I think. Then I saw the chicken running around my mom's house.
That chicken didn't like what was going on and evacuated the coop.
What #FossilFools like Stephen Blank are unwilling to acknowledge yet is that the reason that it doesn't make any sense to build new fossil fuel infrastructure is because we're rapidly transitioning away from fossil fuels.
It's also quite possible that they are being paid in order to try to help slow down the transition.
Now, I don't want to just talk about the fossil fools that are working to block climate action now that we finally have a POTUS that has taken grand steps towards transitioning our country away from fossil fuels finally.
This first large-scale offshore wind project is a BIG deal and not just because those turbines are HUGE. Most of our population lives near the coasts and so offshore wind can help us decarbonize our grid relatively quickly.
Did you know that the amount of grid-tied batteries on the U.S. electricity grid is expected to almost double this year?
What can we do to help make these stories on the climate progress we're making get more attention? We know from the way the right side of the aisle succeeds at selling their stories is repeating them over and over and over. I think that we need to talk up climate solutions more.
Across America, #CleanEnergy plants are being banned faster than they're being built
"At least 15% of counties in the U.S. have effectively halted new utility-scale wind, solar, or both, USA TODAY found. These limits come through outright bans, moratoriums, construction impediments and other conditions that make green energy difficult to build.
The result: Some of the areas with the nation's best sources of #wind and #solar power have now been boxed out."
Did you know? In 2017 anti-#nuclear lobby group NRDC stated:
"A new report finds that clean energy—including energy efficiency, #renewable power sources like #solar and #wind, and related transmission solutions—can fully and economically replace the Indian Point nuclear power plant after it closes in 2021."
It was a complete lie 👇 I wonder how many people have died due the higher air pollution. That's on the #NRDC's hands, next to the extra #ClimateChange caused by them.
The feature article reports a study of the compression of the remanent lunar magnetic field by the solar wind, based on data taken at several Apollo landing sites.
