Knowing how to learn is such a critical skill, and it doesn't get talked about enough. How to gather info, organise it, pick out what matters, recognise patterns, break big problems down into smaller ones, etc. If you can do those things, you can accomplish literally anything, it doesn't matter the topic or field.

My Holiday Mac & Cheese recipe which I triple because it disappears so fast.

Roast chunks of butternut squash in oil, with an oiled head of garlic wrapped in foil.

Blend the garlic and about a third of the squash with some* sour cream, cream cheese, nutmeg, salt, pepper, and allspice.

Add the sauce to cooked pasta. Stir in lots of grated cheese and add more to the top. Sprinkle with seasoned breadcrumbs and truffle oil.

Bake. Rejoice.

Netflix is being really smart by investing more in games.

The average indie-sized game costs 50-700k to make, meanwhile they allocate 100-200M for a film. I'm surprised they're not yet advertising games on the TV app, but I predict they'll be pleased with the overlap between audiences.

I'm very ready for story-led games to get more attention and resource. They're 4-6 hour long interactive films for a fraction of the cost.

I told the kids they could play video games, thinking I could go upstairs and rest while they entertained themselves.

I then spent their entire allotted screen time helping them get Bluetooth controllers working, finding passwords, logging into accounts, mediating game choices and shared libraries, adjusting controller sensitivities, and responding to "I'm stuuuuuuuck!" more times than I can count.
