Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison squirted raw H5N1-containing milk from infected cows into the throats of anesthetized laboratory mice, finding that the virus caused systemic infections after the mice were observed swallowing the dose. The illnesses began quickly, with symptoms of lethargy and ruffled fur starting on day 1. On day 4, the animals were euthanized to prevent extended suffering.

Whenever it rains hard, my toilet gurgles. Had overflowed once years ago, so I get a bit nervous during heavy rainfalls. One technique we apply: Place a cotton mop head in the toilet bowl blocking the flow, and lean the pole under cabinet to fix it In place. Thankfully, no repeat performance so far this summer. #Montréal

Most HCW are now unmasked at my local vaccine center, (as press conferences announce record infections! ). Not one nurse was wearing a mask out of 12. The 1st refused. though I politely asked. I did give her a piece of mind.The 2nd did comply with my request.

I spent over a decade working as a makeup assistant. My spouse, a musician. Both of us were in strong unions. We are lucky that we still enjoy those benefits after many years in the business. I am very thankful for the union support we receive.

Why do I bring this up?

Folks, (especially you younger folk) unions are so very important. I can’t stress this enough. Get in one, and make it stronger. Now is that time.
