A friend just pointed out:

"ADHD creates impulse control issues and, consequently, advertising takes advantage of a disability. Ergo, ad blockers are assistive devices and interfering with their operation for commercial gain constitutes a willful violation of the ADA."

Let’s do this.

The latest TestFlight build of Dice by PCalc has a new Pride dice theme which can be tinted to show a wide variety of flags (all the ones that are in PCalc currently).

I'm generating the stripes on the fly, based on a underlying greyscale gradient texture, so I should be able to use that same technique for more intricate designs that can be recoloured.

Finally, after years of searching, I have obtained a GBA cart with a Mega Drive/Genesis emulator on it (thanks to Ankos!). I have been wanting to research this for some time after seeing it on YouTube, and it turns out it is far more interesting than I anticipated. 🧵(1/14)

I completely forgot I uploaded VistaPro 3.20 (the scenery renderer) to the Internet Archive, where you can run it from your browser. For those sudden urges of wanting to create some landscapes.

https://archive.org/details/vistapro320

Includes the MakePath tool.

Don't forget to take screenshots of your creations! Nothing can be retrieved from the disk the in-browser DOSBox keeps, as far as I know.

(Please be patient with the Archive's speed, they're dealing with persistent DDoS attacks at the moment)

Hey, Mastodon … I’m trying to track down an developer named Stephen A. Cronin.

He worked at and operated a software company called TapTech based out of Austin, Texas in the late 90s. I’ve managed to contact his former software partner, Francis Preve … but Francis lost touch with Stephen years ago.

Together they released a sequencer program for called NR404 and I’m hoping the source code still exists somewhere.

Boosts appreciated.

Okay, the CI hell is over. I have released the first version of my "switch your monitor inputs from your computer" program. It even comes with a GUI :D:

Hopefully you'll save a few minutes of your life over the course of a few years :).

Sierra On-Line accidentally included the source code to their AGI adventure game engine on some copies of Space Quest II. Its presence is not obvious but with enough sector sleuthing it is possible to recover about 70% of it. The recovered source code is peppered with illuminating comments regarding its history and authors. It can be examined in a GitHub repo linked in the article.

Ha! The Discord GDPR/Data Export thing reveals that it's running models to figure out what gender you are. If you go to /activity/analytics/events-*.json and grep for predicted_gender you get something like:
