The internet is a confusing place. I was looking for news stories about Mr Blobby, then I somehow fell down an INSANE rabbit-hole so that when my wife came in and asked what I'm doing because I'm supposed to be getting ready, I said to her the following..................

I'm trying to verify that the man who holds the record for inserting most creme eggs into his anus was eaten by a crocodile.

Edit - I don't know if they were wrapped or unwrapped and I don't know if he was eaten by a crocodile as the Daily Sport asserts in their article.

I agree with Kenan Malik; behind the increasingly instrumental view of university education (that it should be judged by what it does for your subsequent career & earning potential), lies a class-based assessment of who should benefit from education at all.

The working class do not deserve the humanistic value of education but rather must be trained in work skills... while the privileged should be able to buy the benefits of enlightenment!

What a reckless article by The Guardian’s Europe correspondent which betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the Far Right.

Meloni being cozy with von der Leyen doesn’t mean Meloni isn’t as far right anymore. The piece itself documents her fascist politics against LGBTQ+ rights, the free press and immigration.

What it does mean is von der Leyen being fine with the Far Right under some conditions. It means the EU as a whole is fine with the Far Right. 1/2

I am particularly disturbed by The Guardian somehow managing to include Meloni’s anti-democratic and hateful track record while also quoting Ursula von der Leyen saying Meloni is ‘pro-European’.

Surely this means what - and who - counts as European is being redefined. Maybe question how far to the right European politicians are comfortable going?

yesterday there were cops roughing up a group of wanderer women (Roma or Sinti) doing palm readings and such. I saw one of the girl cops lift up skirts in the middle of the street for a publicly humiliating search.

this kind of thing that makes me keep thinking of the abyss that there is between the left scene and the most oppressed strata of society.

I’m making a new religion that turns libraries into religious institutions and our most holy practice is going to the library and reading books. On the weekend we all get together and read silently together at the library. Our holy leaders are our librarians as they are guides to knowledge.

This way it makes it significantly harder to defund libraries. 😈

At some point, it became Democratic orthodoxy that we must never judge candidates or expect better from them because every election is the most important election in history, a continual crisis where we have to pragmatically make tough choices in order to avoid an even worse outcome.

And fine, okay, but the crisis never ends, does it? The people who run on stopping the greater evil never do, nothing is done about it, our options get worse, and it feels like we're being taken advantage of.

Mich hat die Kampagne des Kanton Zürich für mehr Frauen in der IT sehr irritiert. Sie ist pink und empfiehlt unter anderem eine "einfache, bildliche Sprache". Das könnte so manche Frau als Beleidigung empfinden.

Meiner Meinung nach wird in der Open-Source Szene die IT-Sicherheit nicht versprochen, sondern meistens rasch umgesetzt und frei verteilt. Auch wenn das hier nun anders ist.

For those who aren’t aware, Microsoft have decided to bake essentially an infostealer into base Windows OS and enable by default.

From the Microsoft FAQ: “Note that Recall does not perform content moderation. It will not hide information such as passwords or financial account numbers."

Info is stored locally - but rather than something like Redline stealing your local browser password vault, now they can just steal the last 3 months of everything you’ve typed and viewed in one database.
