The people who warn us most about what a second Trump presidency would do are often people who were on his staff or who worked with him.

In his legal cases, most witnesses are Republicans.

Mattis, Trump's own Defence Secretary, eventually didn't go to the White House anymore as he considered Trump “a madman in a circular room screaming.”

That's a beautiful statement by Susan Sontag:

I strongly believe that in November, the USA will show that it prefers Biden's mercifulness over the Golden Spoon Bully's cruelty.

    President Biden has cancelled $153 billion in student debt for over 4 million borrowers in spite of a GOP Supreme Court and congress trying to hurt Americans along the way

    This is a huge win

    It’s between a sexual predator with 91 criminal charges or one of the most effective presidents of the modern era

    And for some reason it’s a close race.

    It still gets me the Bible Jesus is a homeless socialist with brown skin, hangs out with 12 dudes and a Prostitute, tells rich people to pay their taxes and give their wealth to the poor, tells the religious leaders that they need to love everyone equally, gets a whip and goes hog on people using religion to sell stuff, and then straight up gets murdered for these beliefs. Yet somehow churches act like he's some kind of Conservative Haircut in khakis and a button up, who would support cutting welfare programs, and would preach Prosperity Gospel.

    Both believers and non-believers usually take the Bible too literally.

    Every book in the Bible was written to give a message.

    Just as is done now by leaders and teachers, you give a message in the language, and with the examples, that the people around you understand.

    To understand the messages in the Bible, you must not take the Bible literally, but relate the text to when it happened. The context.

    It is the message that counts, not the text.

    To people who say that Israel's war on Gaza is legitimate, I ask to read these numbers and ask themselves if Israel still holds the moral high ground.

    Good comparison: when librarians are fired at schools (such as this example in Texas), the affluent will move to areas that have schools with librarians.

    Today at 12:00 Dutch time, there was Navalny's funeral in Moscow.

    It was the first time for me to go to an embassy, the Russian one, to place flowers as a sign of respect to one of their citizens.

    Nonviolent resistance has failed. Israel left Palestinians with few options besides violent resistance. The many Palestinians who hate Hamas are afraid to say so.
