FBI notifying passengers on the Boeing plane on which the door plug came out in flight that they are "possible victim[s] of a crime".

Not disclosed is what crime is being investigated here. Criminal negligence on Boeing and/or its subcontractor's part, or, more nefariously, some kind of sabotage?

@mattblaze If it's deemed a crime against every passenger on that flight, Boeing is going to get sued out of existence.

This is the whole story of the Republican Party right here. Can’t be bothered to consider doing anything to help the average person because they hate Democrats so much.

GOP senator doesn’t want to pass a tax bill because it could make Biden ‘look good’-

@TonyStark Reminiscent of years ago when Ted Cruz voted against, and blocked a bill that would've seen a solid increase in care and funding for veterans, exclusively because it was a snub back back after something he had wanted to push had been shot down.

These are children masking as adults, controlling billions of dollars that affect the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Yet they won't do the objectively right thing, entirely out of spite.

@skaly You have great songs on Bandcamp.

The production is exceptional, and as a decade-long cello player in school, lifelong drummer, and occasional guitar and piano noodler these days, I was pleasantly surprised to see real musicians in the credits. I usually expect that kind of sound to be digital these days. Bravo for those choices.

All of which leads me to ask: How long did it take you to piece together such a great collaborative team?

Monopolist Spotify is unhappy about monopolist Apple using its monopoly power to "comply" with federal court's feeble pretense of a pro-competition ruling in a way that changes nothing.

Hey, writers —

Something I encounter occasionally in a story and have yet to come up with an elegant way of describing: What would you call what this woman is doing, with her hand and head in particular?

“She rested her head on her open hand, arm raised, elbow propped on the table” is agonizingly verbose for such a common, casual thing. But cutting it down opens it up to ambiguity.

Is that action called something specific?
Suggestions for re-phrasing?

Boosts appreciated.

We had a lot — A… LOT — of kids zigzagging across our street tonight, rather than going up one side and down the other.

A coupe of times they did it in front of cars that were coming. More times than that they didn’t even bother looking either way, just walked out to the other side.

Parents, relatives, friends of anyone with kids: PLEASE explain to them basic safety like not doing this, ever.
The more it happens, the more kids will get hurt. And some will get killed.

People who wear safety boots or shoes for work and are on their feet a lot in them:

What brands can you recommend that are a) comfortable, b) durable, and c) don’t cost a fortune?

I got a Mellow Walk pair months back, and while they started off well, they’ve since started to absolutely murder my feet.

I was going to bite the bullet on cost and look at Blundstones, but a coworker has found they’ve come to hurt his feet, too.

To whoever thinks that people lean more to the political right as they get older: Im over 50 and bust my butt at work for $3/hr over minimum wage, where even if I worked full time hours (not often scheduled), I couldn’t afford the average rent for a one-bedroom apartment in my city, let alone eating or paying any other bills.

If anything, I’m seeing the downside of capitalism better as I age and thinking that our union isn’t doing enough.

Can anyone tell me what a nominal cost is for annual website domain renewal and hosting combined?

It’s for my site, reayjespersen.com.

Extremely light stuff, mostly blogs with some photo galleries included. No heavy lifting or streaming needs.

I’m currently with A2, have been for a year (or two?) but just got hit for some huge, erroneous charge for way, WAY more than I need.

I’m talking with them to remedy that, but in case there’s no practical option, I need to find it a new home fast.

Please boost for a wider cast.

Looking like I’m going to have to bail on my current web hosting service because they renew at too steep a price than I can afford for a little blog site and two domains.

I keep seeing HostGator, inmotion and DreamHost show up as well-rated sites with really affordable (introduction) packages.

Does anyone have any experience with any of those services? Good/bad/ugly?

@Binder These days I’m seeing very close to as many people coughing or sneezing openly — zero attempt to cover up — as I saw before COVID.

And it’s happening more with adults than kids. You pricks are supposed to be old enough to know better.

Even a pandemic isn’t enough to get people to stop being gross and choosing — CHOOSING — to spread their germs.
