Free (and unsolicited) tip: Stop thinking that using a toolkit/framework following its guidelines means doing a UX study on your app. Each app has a specific use case, a specific target, solves specific problems, and requires a dedicated study. In addition, each product has its own brand identity, following the guidelines of a framework does not magically give you an identity.

With the announcement of Wayland only builds will Firefox finally allow the Flatpak to default to Wayland for people who are using Wayland? It has been available behind a flag for years

Not only does it run better, it provides much better security isolation by not running on the outdated X11 protocol. Forcing Wayland users to use XWayland just seems unnecessary now

I'm struggling with Quickbooks desktop (which you can only get as a subscription now, unless you pay four figures for an enterprise license).

#Xero comes highly recommended to me, but I'm loathe to go "#cloud" for accounting. Very loathe indeed.
