Retrospective from a month with the #Zenfone 11 Ultra:
I'm now officially a fan of the Zenfone. It hits a certain sweet spot for me between the headphone jack, UI, camera, and battery life. It's the direction #Samsung should have gone.
I don't like the larger size more than the size of the 9/10, but it is roughly the same size of my previous Samsung Galaxy Plus, so I can definitely live with it.
And I do like it more than my #Pixel 8. It has the things I like about the Pixel, but offers polish in the areas where I don't. Like, you can have the same navigation button order every other Android phone but Pixel has. You can hold down the switcher button for a screenshot, etc.
I'm reusing my Pixel 7 with Graphene OS using a secondary SIM.
It's truly excellent work; it works wonderfully, and the phone is noticeably more responsive compared to Google's Android.
I suggest everyone with a compatible Pixel device to give it a try; I don't think you'll go back.
I thought the wireless charging stopped working on my #Zenfone 11, but it turned out to be a 3rd party case. The charging works fine without a case or the case it came with, but not the simple clear plastic one I bought on Amazon. I have a similar style case on my #Pixel 8 and wireless charging works with it, so now I'm curious if it's a problem with the case or the Zenfone.
Another one with the #LongExposure feature on the #PixelCam. Not a big fan of the renovation work at this market in #Porto, but I guess it works for the pictures. 😅
Recently I discovered that on Pixel phones you can tap the back of the phone twice to bring down the notification bar. However, this is so clunky and barely works.
What will it take for Google to just bring back the rear fingerprint reader with the ability to swipe down on that for notifications?
They took something useful and well liked, for what? Software that barely works, is slower and is objectively worse than the option that worked?
Been slacking posting more art here, so time for a teensy selection of an old generative/evolutionary system from 2014 (then used for my HOLO 2 magazine guest design). Originally written in Clojure, meanwhile ported to TypeScript & Zig, I've kept working on & experimenting with it ever since... 1000s of screenshots and 100s of versions to sift through. Loosely based on research done by Barricelli[1] since the early 1950s, conceptually and aesthetically it sits nicely between my C-SCAPE and De/Frag and has a similarly huge design space to explore (in some versions coupled with genetic programming to evolve cell replication rules)... There's a 1500 word draft blog post from back then too, which goes into more detail and history of this approach. Maybe its time to publish that one too at last... :)
Najlepszy do zdjęć w cenie 1500pln, (+/- 300pln) to będzie pixel 7a?
Classic New England spring. It has been sleeting/raining/snowing/icing for the past 24 hours while the early spring flowers go about their business in full bloom. Taken outside the town library with my Pixel 4a 5G.
