I have an #iPhone and I have a #Pixel, the iPhone is the main, but I toy with going full time #Android. Please share the reasons you use the platform you use and please boost.
So, thoughts on the Pixel 8. I got it 40% off cause I a good kitten, so $400 or so instead of like $800, pretty darn good. Anyway, the biggest issue I've had with it so far is just touching the fingerprint sensor just right. See, it's not at the bottom of the screen where the home button is, so it's taken me a while to really get used to it. I'm getting lots better at it though! It also doesn't seem to be very good for gaming, but I'm sadly less of a gamer than I thought I'd be, so that's not too big of an issue. The speakers sound great, vibrations are just as good as the iPhone, and an updated Android and TalkBack work a lot better together. For example, recalibrating the dots of the TalkBack onscreen Braille keyboard works every single time on the Pixel.
Happy Holidays! Had a brilliant meet up with my #TeamPixel pals at #WinterFestOC to see all the pretty lights and ride some fun carnival rides! Shot and edited on the #Pixel8Pro before I drive home 😊🎄
📣 Last call for the limited and signed A2 art prints of the 64Nops issue 2 cover I did on Amstrad CPC (mode 0 / 26 colors). This batch will be posted in 48h
It is currently 22F here in Winston Salem, NC. You can see we have quite a bit of frost on the ground this morning.
This is hands down the best time of the year. I just took this picture while standing in the backyard while wearing shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt. It feels absolutely amazing outside!
1973 the first digital art contest was going on between Richard "Dick" Shoup and Damon Rarey at the SuperPaint computer system. While Damon was ahead in the competition, in the aftermath all graphic designer have won.
This is a tribute to them and what their achievements made possible for all of us. Needles to mention again that vector designs and layouts are made in #SVG with @inkscape, isn't it?
I guess Android 14 took away the ability to set preferred network type? Was trying to force LTE to see if I could get better reception, which used to be in the cellular menu, but it no longer exists. What a bummer.
I'm very glad to see farmers win the right to repair their tractors. It's a win for consumers against bogus #IP objections from manufacturers. https://www.bbc.com/news/business-64206913
But it adds this proviso: "Legislation should acknowledge the risks borne by unskilled repairers and allow original equipment manufacturers (OEM) to provide parts assemblies rather than individual components to reduce the risk of injury."
