It’s been too long since I posted a picture of Hamilton and just got a request. Heeeeere’s #Hammy! Sleepy Hammy who loves everything. #DogsOfMastodon
& before my Debbie Downers do their usual pinning negative attributes to him, no: He’s not hungry, angry, sad, lonely, impatient, or deprived in any way, shape or form. He’s simply happy and cute.
@GottaLaff lol same! My boys are enormous German shepherd x Malamute mixes. Over 100lbs each. But they think they're little babies and can sit in my lap. I don't care. All puppy snuggles are good snuggles... even if they're crushing you!
Been meaning to say, if anyone has a pet that they are desperate to see in a Santa hat but either 1. thinks it would be an indignity to make them wear one or 2. would like to avoid their pet taking appropriate revenge for the indignity, do share a photo with me & I'll happily do a virtual version if I can!
I realise in the days of AI and photo filters you don't need a photoshopper anymore, but just in case anyone wants an artisnal version 🎅 🐱 🐶
@redplanet00 Thanks, Fred – he really put us through the wringer, but we’re very grateful he’s back & seemingly no worse for the wear, at least once he’s regained his full weight again.
@markmccaughrean after having been missing for 4 weeks it must have been an immense and overwhelming sense of relief to get him back. Good to see some down to earth happy event in these frequently dark times.
When you write hashtags that contain multiple words, make the first letter of each word a capital letter, for example #DogsOfMastodon. This will make the tag readable to blind people.
Blind people use the internet through screen reader apps, which read text out aloud. By putting a capital at the start of each word in a hashtag, you are telling the screen reader how to say the tag correctly.
In the non-techy world this is generally known as "CamelCase".
@feoh@feditips The #CamalCase also makes it easier to find hashtags eg #BooksOfMastodon or #DogsOfMastodon then you can follow the hashtag to keep up with what's going on.
A good way to connect with other people of same interests or hobbies.
@seachanger #dogsOfMastodon Our rescue pup, who found himself at a loose end when, following the first Covid lockdown, his owner went back to work. He took himself on walks and ended up in the pound. His owner, I'm told, surrendered him in tears after three or four of these visits, knowing that he needed someone who'd be home with him a lot more. And so he came to us.
I always wanted to communicate better with dogs but didn't know that it could be like this.
If it's not still obvious that I'm obsessed with #cats, here's a thread where I'll post photos of random cats I've taken throughout my journey called life...
'Initially, we struggled to see sort of of any change in the narratives, there but slowly. We started to see that these narratives were being pushed by these traditionally pro #prigozhin trolls - narratives that were critical of him for the #Wagner#mutiny so that would suggest that this troll factory has been taken over already by structures close to the #Russian state itself' https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3ct5hlb #TheGlobalJigsaw
It’s Saturday and my dogs are doing their usual after-breakfast checks on other people’s breakfast but here’s a picture of my dogs yesterday when it was snowing outside. #DogsOfMastodon
My wife always makes fun of me for taking thousands of photos and videos of Cookie, but it’s useful when the vet says ‘how long has she been walking like that?’ And I have videos of her walking, almost every day of her life, so I can show her
