Vermont becomes 1st state to enact law requiring oil companies pay for damage from change

“Finally, maybe for the first time anywhere, Vermont is going to hold the companies most responsible for climate-driven floods, fires and heat waves financially accountable for a fair share of the damages they’ve caused.”

Maryland, Massachusetts and New York are considering similar measures. https://apnews.com/article/vermont-climate-change-superfund-oil-companies-b6565729f23e85eed4d3da44b04ae2e5

Study: no new FF projects needed:

The world has enough FF projects planned to meet global energy demand forecasts to 2050 & govts should stop issuing new oil, gas & coal licenses, acc to a lg. study aimed at pol leaders.

If govts deliver the changes promised in order to keep the world from breaching its targets no new FF projects will be needed, researchers at Univ. College London & the INTL Inst. for Sustainable Development (IISD) said on Thurs.

A rare moment when a video title is not clickbait. Great report from DW Planet A on energy system inefficiencies. I've wonder whether talking more about efficiency and waste to climate skeptics might bring them on board with green policies. Personally, I don't care how we do it, as long as we get to the same end result of a more sustainable world.

Our account goal is not to be popular. Our goal is to inspire a few people to be the change about composting and hope that with a domino effect, they will inspire others.

This is why we have decided to stand for a few topics that are not related to composting.

We want LGBTQIA people to feel included here as I have myself a few letters of the umbrella. It is about to be and we will celebrate this event.

We stand for the fact that the crisis is a reality. We don't understand why we should follow the feelings of a few old men who are destroying this planet in the name of greed. Fuck that.

Also if democracy is about to be wiped out from the USA we will remind Americans that freedom is never a one-way road. Freedom should never be a privilege for a few people.

‘The Impact of Extreme Weather on Scottish Agriculture’ commissioned by WWF Scotland shows that increased prolonged periods of hot, dry weather dramatically risk the profitability of Scottish farms, but by adopting nature-friendly farming practices this can be avoided

Conditions improved in south-central and northern areas of Kansas this week, while both extreme and severe drought expanded slightly in parts of western Kansas.

The state’s vacillating drought conditions over the past few weeks have affected some winter wheat crops. This week’s USDA Crop Progress report rated Kansas’ winter wheat condition at 11% very poor, 21% poor, 36% fair, 29% good and 3% excellent.

Like Biden, tax those that have done very well driving us up the one way street to firestorms and floods, and just buy the offshore wind-farms and heat-pumps. Just buy the solar roofs.

A new study shows renewables yielded $249 billion in climate and health benefits!

This windfall of benefits from 2019 through 2022 is thanks to wind and solar generation increased by about 55% in the U.S.

The U.S’s use of wind & solar power cut its CO2 emissions by 900m metric tons = equivalent of taking 71m cars off the road every year.

This is why we advocate; this is why we fight the good fight. This news brings me joy!
