This was originally a song I wrote on guitar and was kind of folk or country.

There is no guitar anywhere in this mix, lolol.

I debated laying down a guitar track, and if I ever add one, I think it will be minimal.

From late 1995 to early 1997 I co-created a Windows platform game called Moon Child.

The game's last world was a hectic, psychedelic grand finale, featuring a fast-paced soundtrack by our composer Ramon Braumuller.

The Moon Child game, all audio tracks and more can be found here, for free:

I had this double-LP arrive some weeks back. It's 'Onwards System' by Cell, which is psychedelic/downtempo. I think it was the first vinyl that Ultimae released in white, but there's also a black version. It's also 180g. Very relaxing album.

Back cover of Cell's new album, 'Onwards System'. The artwork looks similar to that of an x-ray.
The inner sleeve of Cell's new album, 'Onwards System'. The artwork looks similar to that of an x-ray.
The two vinyl records of Cell's new album, 'Onwards System'. They are both pure white.

Good morning! My first EP comes out on Friday!!! Wowsers

yougenius,

And a dear friend and supporter already bought my first copy on Bandcamp!

I wanted to put a single out but didn't want to deal with the hassle, so I found it easiest to make my Bandcamp release into a pre-order, with 2 tracks available to listen early! Check it out!

(And give me a follow while you're there so you can get all the latest)

New from @atomic and me!

It's New Music Monday!!!

I'm still the only person using that hashtag?

This song is called Dope. It might have been Take 17, which is 99% of the lead track.

It says but it's its own thing, really. Aaron's makes for good music, I think.

My only question is ...why? You still have to go to the place... (not an online system just machine rather than paper ballot) First? Used in Toronto municipal for years.

I like paper with people counting... Just the least likely to be f&*ked with... but maybe I am just old. I grew up without or phones in your hand.

Always worried that, if it is / someone knows how to f&*k with it.

Recommendations, please, for fedizens who make electronic music.

(Probably dance/trance, but interested to hear what comes up).

I am expecting to pay for downloads, and licensing preferred.

SlaughterSongs,

@neil @flockofnazguls just announced a project based off the Elektrokrush series:

They post magic daily. I am actually not into music personally, but I heard their stuff when I joined Mastodon and I can't get enough.

I also see @etherdiver in this thread. Another person who makes electrostuff so good that I like it despite my taste

Hey! I just reached 100 followers here on Mastodon, thank you! A few words about me for those who joined recently for the music. I'm Davide from France and I have many interests. You may have noticed I compose , but I also like circuits, vintage , . Depending on the period, expect posts on those areas (and more).

A Nixie clock I built in 2007, using a small PIC microcontroller.
Headlights of my 1972 Lancia Fulvia.
A vintage computer collection: Commodore C128D and VIC20, Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Sharp PC-1260. A Datasette, a Sony videoprinter and a Sony PVM monitor complete the picture :-)

Among my favorite chiptunes are Tim Follin's 1988 Commodore 64 and Amiga conversion arrangements of the Bionic Commando arcade game soundtrack.

Deliciously bold and experimental, with frenzied solos, and often effectively using odd meters in the few available audio channels.

Beware... this is not 'easy listening'. 😉

With its plodding, methodical beat, eerie organ-like tones and vocals that sound like they're coming from the bottom of the well, it's hard to categorize "Domingo de Romeria" by @sintrom as anything but experimental, but a weird sort of singer-songwriter experimentalism. Weird but intriguing, which is always a lovely combo.

They say if you sell your crafts, post about them. OK.

I love the future - the future of the 1970s, not what we got. TLDR - I created light props to resemble the blinking computers of 1970s scifi futuristic movies. I sell them as kits on Etsy; all you do is solder the LEDs to the board.

The slow-flashing LEDs drift out of sync and make patterns that fool your brain that something deeper is going on. This is the bigger one, the Super-Computron 4500.

#electronics #kit #1970s #future

The Super-Computron 4500 is a light prop/effect that resembles the blinking computer panels in 1970s scifi movies set in the future. It displays a continually changing pattern of dots in an 18x18 grid (324 LEDs total), and is 150mm / 6 inches square. This one features green LEDs. The author sells them in kit form in a variety of colours from his Etsy shop. https://www.etsy.com/shop/RetroFutureTech

cazabon,

The Super-Computron 4500 has an 18x18 grid of 324 LEDs, and the circuit board is 150mm / 6 inches square. It makes a great desk toy.

The constantly changing patterns are mesmerizing.

The 4500 kit will take an experienced electronic kit builder 2 hours or less to build. It's just soldering.

Etsy shop here:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/RetroFutureTech

For a lot more info and a build guide (for the smaller 3000, procedure is identical):
https://retrofuturetech.ca/kit/computron-3000/

cazabon,

The original version is the smaller Computron 3000, which has a 12x12 grid of 144 LEDs on a 100mm / 4 inch square circuit board.

They're both available in a choice of colours (red, green, blue, orange, amber), as well as in slowly-morphing RGB "rainbow", as shown here. Plug it in (the flare is artistic, I guess... 😀 ) and it starts off red, and then slowly morphs through all colours. The "pixels" drift out of sync, giving complex patterns and motion.

The Computron 3000 is the original retro supercomputer prop lamp, and the little brother to the Super-Computron 4500. It features a 12x12 grid of 144 LEDs, and the circuit board is 100mm / 4 inches square. This one features slow-morphing RGB or rainbow LEDs, which provide a slowly changing field of colour.

cazabon,

Blue is very, very popular, despite it not being seen much in 1970s movies, and blue LEDs weren't common until well into the 2000s. But people like them.

My favourites are the classic colours of the 70s movies - red, amber, green. And I like the rainbow-morphing effect a lot. On the Super-Computron 4500, the rainbow morph is amazing.

This is how it looks in classic red.
