Das Aktionsbündnis neue Soziale Medien hat heute an die #Hochschulen in Deutschland appelliert, ihre Accounts bei #X (vormals #Twitter) baldmöglichst still zu legen.
In dem Appell wird darauf hingewiesen, dass die Präsenz bei X/Twitter aufgrund der dort betriebenen #Desinformation und politischen Hetze nicht dem Aufklärungsanspruch der Hochschulen gerecht wird. Gleichzeitig sollten Präsenzen auf #Mastodon und anderen Servern im #Fediverse aufgebaut werden, deren dezentrale und moderierte Gestaltung viel eher mit den Regeln eines demokratischen und nachhaltigen Miteinanders vereinbar ist.
„Gerade #Hochschulen haben eine Vorbildfunktion und sollten Informationen und Austausch nicht über Überwachungsplattformen anbieten. Das #Fediverse bietet für alle möglichen Anwendungsbedürfnisse verschiedene Plattformen, die alle miteinander vernetzt sind. Hier können Hochschulen nicht nur einen Ersatz für #Microblogging finden, sondern können die Softwares und Funktionen nutzen, die auch private Kommunikation, Gruppen und Foren oder Funktionen für Audio-/Videoformate oder Events bieten (wie #Peertube, #Friendica, #Misskey, #Castopod u.v.m.)“
Dobrym podejściem są też web-aplikacje starające się integrować wiele profili z różnych serwisów. Np. #Phanpy, który ostatnio integruje #Mastodon i #Pixelfed (jego Media-firt UI jest świetne).
Innym tematem jest uparte trzymanie się przez Mastodona obsługi jedynie typu Note (i ułomne wyświetlanie Article). A ponieważ Mastodon dominuje w #Fedi, nie rozwija się (tak jak mogłoby) wsparcie dla innych typów treści #ActivityPub: image, video, audio, artist, album, track, playlist. De facto obrazki czy filmiki albo audio to po prostu załączniki do typu Note, bo Masto tak ma i nic innego nie wyświetli :/
Więc IMO pole do rozwoju jest ogromne, nie trzymajmy się kurczowo jednego konta (to wymysł marketingowców budujących silosy), zostańmy przy jeden login do wielu usług, jeśli już musimy ;)
I present the first named release of the Friendica mobile/desktop client: Relatica. It is still very much a work in progress but I'm going to start opening it up for beta usage (early beta). For iOS that will mean me letting up to 100 people into the inside testing team (Apple's limit). Stell dir vor, du willst einer oder vielen unterschiedlichen öffentlichen Timeline's, entfernter Nodes, im Fediverse folgen, ohne den Server wechseln zu müssen.
Kein Problem. Lege dir unter #Friendica einen neuen Kanal an. Gibt dem Kanal einen sprechenden Namen und ggf. noch eine Beschreibung, was in diesem Kanal zu sehen sein wird.
Ggf. definierst du noch Hashtags, die du besser nicht sehen willst, oder sagt, dass Beiträge unter oder oberhalb einer bestimmten Zeichenlänge nicht angezeigt werden sollen.
Nun der entscheidende Punkt: Im Feld "Volltextsuche" trägst du z.B.die folgende Inhalte ein :server:norden.social :server:dis-le.de :server:libranet.de.
Das ist die Auswahl, die ich hier zu Versuchszwecken hinterlegt habe. Da kann natürlich auch nur ein Node sein oder viele weitere, andere Server.
Jetzt vielleicht noch die präferierten Sprachen auswählen und fertig ist der Kanal.
In meinen Fall wird nun eine bunter Mix von Beiträgen angezeigt, die mir als neue Timeline "Wohnzimmer" zur Verfügung steht und die ich nach belieben verändern kann.
Ich finde schon sehr, sehr cool, was alles im Fediverse möglich ist.
Es gibt schon lange eine sehr große und aktive englischsprachige Opensource-Community lemmy.ml/c/opensource , aber um sich zu deutschsprachigen News auszutauschen oder Fragen auf deutsch zu stellen und zu diskutieren, gab es mW noch keine Entsprechung. Daher habe ich nun spontan diese gegründet:

The latest beta of the Relatica mobile and desktop Friendica client, version 0.9.0, has just been released. Along with a slew of small bug fixes and tweaks this release now has a mechanism for viewing, filtering, and exporting the log events generated by the software. This will help users interact with developers (well me right now) in diagnosing problems on their system. This release also has the long requested feature of opening up tag searches on the user's home server not the remote server when they are clicked on. This is available for Apple and Google stores for those in the test program (ping me if you want access) and should have approval in the next 24 hours. I'm excited about the next release of Friendica is that the BlueSky integration is mature enough I will activate it on my instance. NGL one of the reasons why is because some accounts, like @Popehat that abandoned Birdshite/Xitter for here are mostly posting over there now. Others that never left have since left it for there (or Threads). Threads I'll pick up when their ActivityPub bridge kicks in. But for the time being anyway there is no ActivityPub bridge from BlueSky. It is posts like this that I miss from Ken though :). The latest beta of the Relatica mobile and desktop Friendica client, version 0.8.0, has just been released. There are a lot of bug fixes, small new features, and small and large UI tweaks detailed fully in the CHANGELOG. Some of the biggest changes (some below screenshots showing) are simpler/nicer interactions bar, a unified timeline picker, a much more descriptive sign in/accounts manager screen, and the splash screen giving more details about what it is doing on initialization. That last one helps if the server is slow to respond. Another huge thing is Relatica is now in the Google Play store, but only available for "internal" testing. Those who would like access to that please DM me here or on Matrix so I can get your email address to add you to the allowed tester list. This is in review for the iOS and macOS stores so should be available within 24 hours. It is now available through Google Play store for those testers. Nachdem #Friendica im letzten Release sogenannte "Channels" eingeführt hat, mit dem man selber seine eigene #Timeline nach eigenen Bedürfnissen bzw. Themen zusammenstellen kann, kommt mit dem nächsten Release ein weiteres cooles Feature: Ein Relay-Konto bzw. Relay-User.
Mit diesem Kontotyp ist es möglich, auf Basis der eben erwähnten Channels einen öffentlichen User zu erstellen, der mithilfe von Hashtags, Volltextsuche o. ä. nach Beiträgen mit den festgelegten Suchbegriffen sucht. Die gefundenen Beiträge werden dann an die User geteilt, die dieses Relay-Konto bei sich als Kontakt hinzugefügt haben. Ich finde das deswegen so genial, weil dadurch die Timeline von #neuhier Usern oder auch die von #Singleuser Instanzen besser, schneller mit Themen gefüllt werden können, die einen interessieren.
Um dies zu testen, habe ich vier solcher themenbezogenen Relay-User erstellt (Linux & Open Source, Datenschutz & IT Sicherheit, Selfhosting & Homeserver, Fußball). Danach habe ich bei einem User der keinerlei Kontakte hat und keine Hashtags gespeichert hat, diese vier Relay-User hinzugefügt. Die Timeline dieses "leeren" Users wurde in kurzer Zeit mit den vier Themen gefüllt. Ich finde das echt genial und könnte für die neuen in der #Fediverse oder eben auch für die erwähnten Singleuser Instanzen eine große Hilfe sein eine lebendige Timeline zu bekommen. Und das Ganze ohne einen vorgeschriebenen, dummen #Algorithmus.

Not every fediverse user want to connect to Bluesky but for those that do, you can look into using Friendica. The next release will allow you to use your Bluesky account from within Friendica. Interact with Mastodon / Msskey / Pixelfed etc and Bluesky users together on one platform
Never joined #tiktok but now with #Friendica video only channel I've been seeing a ton of it, and seeing tiktok videos posted to the #fediverse and I can see just how fast misinformation can spread in a video only environment. If its about Ukraine, or Gaza I can't bring myself to share any of it because just like #TV#news, the more sensationalized the more clicks and shares it gets meaning its less likely to have any context at all. So like boycotting TV news(which you all should) I'm not going to be sharing any video news that will make your emotions run wild, aka #propaganda. Even if its propaganda for a good cause its still prevents people from thinking before feeling ensuring blind biases can take over thinking and reason.
Es ist einfach faszinierend mit der #Fediverse. Mit meiner #Friendica Einzeluser Instanz habe ich Kontakt zu 25.155 anderen Instanzen und kann somit mit 13.717.906 anderen Usern kommunizieren. Plus den Menschen drüben auf #Bluesky und #Tumblr.
Der große Vorteil ist auch, dass ich absolut selber Herr über meine Daten bin.
