We've only seen a handful of phones handle audio well. We don't need a lot to fix this situation on premium camera focused devices, but companies need to take these features as seriously as they do camera sensors.
I wonder how #Mojo can get away with lies regarding its latest benchmark.
Fake news in tech are actually a threat?
Tech entertainers like #ThePrimagen only make things worse by promoting these fake news without validation.
Then he is quoted in a later Mojo blog post spreading bullshit about #RustLang and ignoring #JuliaLang. But debunking posts like this are ignored:
Easily the best cameras currently available on a folding phone in North America. Killer hardware and solid processing from the Hassleblad collaboration. A few sticky bits I hope can be addressed in future updates, but it's genuinely a GREAT set of cameras on ANY phone, but the best on a foldable.
I WONDER if this is a sneak peek at what's in store for us on the OnePlus 12?
Mojo gave Tk 50 lakh to Palestine -

I'm not blowing anyone's minds here. Oppo delivered a MONSTER photography option this year. https://www.patreon.com/posts/93474308?utm_campaign=postshare_creator
After updates and patches, the Find X6 Pro is a beautifully polished mobile content creation solution.
What's interesting, we're starting to get a look at next year's phones.
A major focus for phones next year is AI, and camera sensors are likely going to shrink on many premium priced options.
More so than in the last couple years, shopping a year old "ultra" phone is going to be an even more competitive choice against a current year "pro" phone.
Let's take a look!
I'm thinking about porting functionality in the {stats19} #rstats package into #Python and possibly other languages. Are you an #OpenSource developer with an interest in #DataScience for policy, sustainability + good? If so please check this issue and let us know your thoughts on taking this project to the next level 🚀 https://github.com/ropensci/stats19/issues/230 @rOpenSci@mszll + all any thoughts on best practices welcome also 🙏
"Great language" is merely a subjective statement. #R has long dropped outside the top 20 of the most used languages in the world and the trend only points downwards. It is in the bottom half of #StackOverflow 's admiration ranking and scores less than 4% in the desirable ranking. In contrast, recent languages like #Flow, #Julia, #Mojo, etc yield pretty much the opposite dynamics at the moment.
Been using it all summer, and this is one of the best photography accessories to shop this year. https://somegadgetguy.com/b/3im
Ulanzi's travel tripod is the lightest I've ever used, and the price is shockingly low.
This was a HUGE problem for years. You buy an EXPENSIVE Android phone, and try to do something BASIC, like trim the beginning and end of a video clip. Google Photos would often take longer to process that video, than the video took to play in real time (and an iPhone would finish the same task almost twice as fast).
A recent update to Photos has improved that processing time... By a LOT...

It has been eventful couple of weeks. First Mojo was finally released which runs Python much faster. Then Bun 1.0 was released which runs JS/TS much faster. This is great news since AI/ML will now require fewer compute resources and so many systems run JS/TS and will benefit from the speed boost once Bun is adopted.
It will take a while for these releases to be validated and used broadly, but both are ready for us to use today with our own scripts.
At first, I was a bit skeptical of the new Modular's #Mojo language.
Having no binaries available (only a playground), and a long history of #Python contenders such as #PyPy or Pyston that never achieved full compatibility... was a huge turnoff.
The amount of Python compilers that never reach 100% compatibility is almost hilarious.
Having seen the tremendous amount of effort behind #Julialang, and how little is its community compared to Python's... adds on top of that.
「 Mojo is a new programming language for AI developers that will grow into being a superset of Python over time. It already supports integrating with arbitrary Python code seamlessly and has a scalable programming model to target performance-critical systems, including accelerators (e.g. GPUs) that are pervasive in AI 」
I am truly looking forward to #Mojo; it sounds like it will make a lot of things a whole lot easier. Keeping access to the huge Python ecosystem is amazing.
But as long as you need to #register before you can look at the #SDK, and there is no published #license for it, it's not "here" in any meaningful sense of the word.
Interestingly, the biggest change in growth has come from direct and external sources. Search still makes up the biggest slice of my views, but the biggest change is pointing people DIRECTLY to my content.
As a percentage, more people aren't FINDING my vids on YT.
It makes me feel like I should test that. Push other sources and social media harder to find people OFF YT to watch my stuff.
Kinda reinforces my feeling that YT is no longer a good discovery engine. It feels like they're gatekeeping, getting in between creator and audience.
In search of my missing #cycling#mojo I stopped for tea at the pop up cafe at #Fewston#Parochial Hall and reminded myself how good cake and tea is on a bike ride.
I never knew this! #Mojo is created by the guy behind #LLVM and #Swift. This is just insane, makes me take it more seriously after just reading a few comments about it here on #Mastodon.
Looks great, but it is still closed. Will let you know if I get #beta access.
Just to mess with the other guys: #Rust hahhaha made you read a #Python post
#Python compatibility is very important for me! I am not going to learn a new language that would get no support or just not be used for the next 5 years. One of the reasons why I still haven't touched #Carbon. But its backward compatibility makes it a good bet.
If #Mojo can't work with my Python code, I won't touch it until it isn't in the top 50 on #Stackoverlow.
That being said, it is still very early access, but I am excited after hearing more about who and what is behind it.
